"Well, I dare say you will!" the loud and imposing voice of the Earl of Clanford echoed across the room. ROSETTE

Seven years old Madison couldn’t help but stare in awe at the girl in front of her.

She looked just like a princess to her in her pink gown and her blonde hair which was styled nicely in a ponytail, the girl had large light blue eyes which Madison thought were extremely beautiful.

Her sister also had blonde hair and blue eyes which she was often jealous of but Ellison hair was a tinge darker and her eyes also lighter. Plus looking at the girl, she felt only admiration for her.

She was seated next to her on the dinner table as she held her spoon with precision and ate her food; she didn’t spill or splatter anything which was quite surprising to Madison as she always made a mess on the dinner table.

The girl whose name she later learned was Rosette the second daughter of the duke of langard: was as graceful as she was beautiful, she was the same age as Madison, but Madison taught she acted much older than her age and more matured.

At her left her elder sister sherry was seated and at her right was her eldest brother Marcus.

“Hmmm, the soup is so delicious.”

The duchess of langard smiled as she couldn’t help devouring the meal in front of her.

"Thank you your grace, it was actually my mother’s recipe.”

Her mother beamed happily and so excited to have gotten the opportunity to have impressed the higher class, as it has always been her dream to be part of them.

She was in support of her husband trying to be an acquaintance and if possible maybe their son Marcus could get married to Ellison in due time “will you want me to give you the recipe later on”

“Yes please that will be really nice of you, I think my chef will make good use of it.”

After dinner and desert the adults where having nice a chat in the drawing room while the children were in another room chattering among them self.

“I heard you like fishing.”

Ellison beam at the boy in front of her with blond hair and striking blue eyes just like that of his sisters. He was just fourteen but he was able to interact with both his father and hers at the dinner table.

He talked so responsibly and acted so maturely that one couldn’t help but mistake his age.

“Yes, I find it very entertaining” he replied with a bored expression on his face which was just the same as that of his sister who were seating ideally doing nothing.

“I really love your hair color, it’s very unique.”

Little Madison couldn’t help but blunt her mind to the duo sisters who both looked at her unblinking.

“Thank you, yours too is….. Okay I guess, black hair is quite common you know” Rosette answered with the popular snobbish attitude of the rich.

It wasn't a new thing that the aristocrats form their nature from childhood, so it was not a shock to Madison that the little girl could be that rude but instead she felt very happy that the girl she so much admired had talked to her.

“Thank you, but my hair isn’t black it dark brown” she said leaning forward for them to inspect her hair which the both did before seating back down.

“I heard your mama talking about your garden earlier could you show it to us."

Sherry looked at her will pleading eyes, and she knew she was supposed to say no because she was forbade to take anyone to the garden and her mother told her strictly not to leave this drawing room, but her childish mind wanted to impress the two girls in front her which she felt intimidated of and a strong sense to wow.

“Yes sure lets go” standing up the trio where headed to the door before being stopped be Ellison

“Where are the three of you going” Ellison also stood up with a worried look on her face “we are not supposed to leave the room Madison”

“We were just going to the garden and we won’t take long”

“But…

“Can I come along too?” Marcus stood up too intending to follow his sisters while interrupting Ellison

“I don’t think that is a good idea we were told not to leave” being older that Madison even by just a year, Ellison knew she will be the one to get scolded by her parents if she allowed them go out to the garden.

“Come on, they won’t even notice” sherry whom was also just a year older than her rolled her eye at her making her feel silly.

“Okay then but we won’t waste time and we will come back as soon as you have seen the garden”

“Okay then let’s go before the notice.” They all excitedly left there.

Together all five of them went to the garden at the back of the house and the langard children had astonished expressions on their faces which made both Madison and Ellison proud of their house.

Ellison took Marcus to see the sunflower at the other side, while Madison took the girls to the main part of the garden to see the other flowers.

“Oh my God they are so beautiful” the girls gushed at the rare species of lilies in the garden which Madison had planted herself on one of her mischievous duping of classes.

She was always so fascinated with flowers and will always stand by their gardener while he worked and she watched with glee.

“Yes, they are because I planted them myself” she said with so much pride that she didn’t even notice the change in their expressions.

“Your parent allows you to play with sand? Isn’t it degrading to dirty your hands with mud, don’t you people have someone for that?”

Feeling a little defensive of the other girl jab Madison spoke up "of course we do, I just love flowers and I like planting them myself.” she taught it was only right to defend herself and her family.
