Chapter 15

"You are here, just as I had predicted, Inez." The head of the council says as he walks me into his office. He offers me a chair as he sits across. "So, what brings you here?"

"My dad's car?"

He laughs at my sarcasm. "What brings you here?" he asks again.

"I know you already know why I'm here. You've seen my future already through the prophecy."

"You won't have a future if you don't feed." He says as he stands up. "The book would have shown you how you died, and that's why you are here right now."

"Yes, it did, and the Scilas brothers are here in New York."

"I'm not surprised, but Inez, if you don't feed then this fight will be for nothing...you have four days left and many things can happen during that time...please, think about your family and the people you will save if you possess these powers."

I sigh, "I... I'm scared." I stutter.

"Why?" he asks, placing his hand on my shoulder.
