Chapter 20: "Why us?"

Inside the car.
"Where are you taking me?", Aditi couldn't help but let a small smile out of curiosity.
"We'll reach soon.", He replied.
They reached a garden area...they walked out as they saw someone walking towards the car...Aditi's eyes widened.
She quickly walked out of the car and walked towards the person standing before.
"Aunty...what are you doing here.", she is the aunt who helped her when she was in the orphanage. Aditi was an introvert and reluctant to speak with people...she is the one who used to help her get the proper necessities and care but soon Aditi lost contact with her and couldn't find her.
"I left the orphanage after that year you left and went back to spend my alone time. It's been years and I'm finally back and I received a message from your husband a few days back.", she smiled seeing Aditi.
Tears rolled down from Aditi's. She was really lucky to take the gamble to marry him. She turned her eyes towards him as she saw him staring at her with a lovely gaze as he walked towards her.
"Hello, Aunty. I'm her husband Anan Mishra.", He spoke as he greeted her.
"Anan...Mishra? You...you...aren't you the so-called heir of Mishra's...?", She was taken back. She just heard his voice but never did she expect that Aditi would be marrying someone from this influential family.
"I am.", He simply smiled as he placed his arm around Aditi's shoulders.
"Good...Finally, my Adi can have a peaceful life...this child she struggled too much...", She was happy for Aditi.
"Aunty let go inside.", with Aditi words they walked into a cafe.
"How did you know?", Aditi spoke in a low voice.
"Your past that I wasn't in...I wish I can erase them and fit into that space...Since I can't do it...all I could do is to erase your scars by filling them with a smile.", he spoke as he opened the door for her.
She walked in...trio sat at a table as Rishi placed the order.
"Aunty...I wanna ask you if you have any plans in future?", Anan spoke as the drink came.
Aditi got his intention as she smiled and sipped her coffee latte.
"I'm done with playing around...have to find a job for a living.", She spoke as she sipped her coffee.
"Aunty then I have a troublesome kid to deal with...and happened to need a caretaker...wondering if you are interested?", Aditi spoke right away.
"You have a child?", she was flustered.
"No..." After a bit of hesitation...she pressed her hands on her legs wondering if it's okay to say or not to say...then her hand was suddenly held by the man beside her as he gave her strength.
Realising it's fine...
"It's Wendy's...", Aditi spoke.
"What? How is her husband? Is he a good person...that girl was so caring towards you back then...I didn't see her after I left...is she fine?", She asked.
"She is not married...and a single mom...Aunty, I can explain it later...she has a stable income and wanted someone to take care of her child and her house...if you are ok I can be more assured with you by her side.", Aditi spoke.
"Cool...I'm good at it...I'm growing old too...it's good to be with people I know.", She smiled.
Aditi was pleased. She can keep her heart at peace with this aunt of her's between those two immature and childish Mother-son.
In hospital.
"So where did you disappear all these years? Do you even know...we almost thought you were...", Lilly stopped herself.
"Thank you...thank you for coming back.", Lilly spoke with tears in her eyes.
"Maa...I...", She suddenly stopped her words...and shook her head implying nothing.
"You wanna tell something.", Lilly spoke after seeing Deeksha's actions.
"Will you believe me if I say...that my husband is not the one behind Anvi's death and Karan's kidnap?", Deeksha spoke as she stared at her with deepened eyes.
Lilly went silent...Deeksha smiled and said nothing.
"Deeksha...I...", When Lilly was to say something.
"Maa...can I take some rest...I will visit you all after few days.", Deeksha interrupted.
All faces went pale...even though they all knew that Ajay wasn't such person but that video they saw that night made their mouths shut. They couldn't forgive him.
Slowly they left the room...Meera and Henna also left the room after a quick goodbye.
Ajay just walked in as he saw Deeksha was in deep thought as she was staring at the window.
"You seem tired take some rest.", Ajay spoke as he patted her head.
"Why us?", She spoke.
" "he didn't speak.
"Why Anvi? That small girl who didn't even see the world how could they do that to her...?", She spoke with tears in her eyes.
"We couldn't protect her...but you should also know there is still threat to the family.", Ajay spoke with his deepened voice.
"I know that's why I didn't reveal the truth about that video and your imposter...", she replied.
"Where is he?", She spoke again.
"I'll take care of discharge. We can leave so we can see them again." When he walked out and sees Karan standing there and staring at him.
Karan smiles with a painful heart and enters the room.
"Aunty...", His voice was trembling.
Deeksha slightly smiles as he signs him to come towards her.
"Sorry I couldn't protect Anvi...", she said with a heavy heart and she held Karan's hand.
"Aunty...you've struggled too...", he replied as his voice was raspy.
"Karan I'm afraid this matter is not simple...there is still a threat to the family...", she spoke in a deepened voice.
"I know...I will find that Mastermind and let him pay for all the crimes he committed.", Karan spoke.
