CHAPTER 5: SYSTEM’S ANGER

"This is the third time it has happened in just two years, how is it even possible for SS rankers to be killed in an A ranked gate." mom said in a worried voice as she and Amy approached the dining table with food.

"I know right mom, and the frequency of gate appearing has also increasing in the past year. Something big is coming I can feel it." Amy supported her word with her own opinion.

'Oh, you have no idea.' I said in my mind.

"Hey, don't think about depressing stuff you lazy panda, Awakeners association knows what they are doing." I said to Amy with a chuckle.

To this she replied with a pouting face "Who are you calling lazy?! You are lazy brother. Lazy like a sloth ... HUMP"

"Leon did you check your result for World Rankers Academy? It was supposed to come out today, right?" mom suddenly asked me, interrupting our playful banter.

"No mom, it will come after 12 pm."

"I see ... hmm? But how do you know that it will come after 12?" mom asked in confusion.

"Just a hunch." I said with a mysterious chuckle and didn't elaborate.

To this this she just looked at him with narrowed eyes but didn't continue. Ten minutes after that we finished our breakfast and I cleaned our dishes as apparently it was my turn today.

After helping mom with chores of the house and I went out to buy some groceries for dinner. Going out of the apartment gate I looked around and saw not much difference other than some humans and beastmen roaming around with typical weapon for Rankers probably going or coming back from their guilds.

As for how beastmen was roaming around in humans' territory it was quite simple.

Third POV

After all the negotiation and creation of world government headquarters in the Unity Island the relationship between different races became quite good. Many people from different races started to migrate continents in search for opportunities, excitement, love and knowledge.

All continents except Antarctica that was inhabited by Fairies and Nymphs was open to all races easily. As for Antarctica, the area under their kingdom was quite small due to them creating their own environment and ecosystem through their magic which was suitable for them to live in that harsh weather, so only rankers were allowed to go there for clearing gate, conquer dungeons or to challenge towers. 

Difference between gates and dungeons is that you have clear a gate by killing the boss in a specific time if not then Opposers (Monsters) will break out of the gate and after clearing the gate it vanishes after sometime whereas dungeons had to be conquered after killing the boss but dungeons do not vanish after killing the boss monsters, you just have to clear the dungeons in a regularly basis so that the dungeon outbreak will not happen.

As for Towers they are the most mysterious of all, all seven are connected to each other and it does not matter from where you enter as you will always go to the floor you left and you cannot go to next floor until you kill the boss of the floor although you can go down to the already cleared floor but doing that will not give you any rewards at all.

Every floor is humongous from inside and you cannot meet anyone inside other than the party you entered with, only the max of 15 can go in a party, it is estimated that there are 100 floors in the tower and each person can only attempt to clear tower twice per rank. For example, a ranker did not used his attempt chance in his/her rank F, rank E and in rank D he entered the tower then he will also have the not used chance of his previous rank.

Tower gives the best and most life changing rewards but it was also the most dangerous of all.

Leon POV

I just finished looking around and started walking towards supermarket while talking to system my head.

'Hey system I was meaning to ask you about this Species level that is at Tier 0 in the status.'

[Host actually it is quite simple, as you know that there is no Qi in this galaxy for millions of years due it getting broken off and because of that after millions of years of devolution every creature in it became a degraded version of their species, so hence the Tier 0 to all. With few exceptions.]

Hearing this I became speechless because nothing like this was mention in the that novel. As if knowing my thoughts system said.

[host not everything was properly explained in that novel as it was just a direction guide for you in my opinion, and even I was quite shocked after learning about the existence of a novel like that is in your mind, it was an anomaly of at least same level as me, whoever it was that send you that novel they will be the biggest variable in the future.]

Hearing this I nodded my head as even I had this thought too and I was sure that if it was not for that novel, I would not have killed that monster in the mountains nor would I have been reincarnated without the help of that skill only to die again after 20 years and meet this system.

'Once is luck, twice is coincidence, but third time is interference of the unknow …. huh' I said in my mind.

But I wasn't scared or anything, because I knew that without that novel, I couldn't even imagine me and my family's ended. Thinking this my eyes became resolute and I promised myself that I will not let anything happen to me and my family this time.

'So, in that way I had to became SSS rank to start cultivating.' I said in my mind thinking about protagonist and his team who were all SSS ranked when they when out the galaxy and started cultivation without any knowledge about this information.

Feeling something weird hearing system, I asked with a scoff 'At least? You are talking as if there are more rank above SSS rank.'

'The fuck?!!' I became dumbfounded in shock. 'There is?!'

After collecting myself I asked system 'What is this rank above SSS?'

[Not Enough authority host] said the emotionless female voice but I felt like it was grinning at my reactions.

'What authority? How do I get it?' I asked in a firm voice as I wanted to let the system remember my position as its master.

'System points? Ooh that! What do system point do?' I asked.

[Host System points can purchase anything.] said the system

'Anything? Aren't you exaggerating?' I was speechless with this system's shameless boasting.

[Host I don't need your doubts host. And as I have said before anything that could be purchased can be bought with system point, only condition is that host has to know exact name and detail about what you want to buy, as for how I can do that? Well, I am connected with myriad of timelines both working and destroyed, so it is not hard for me to this. It's the system points that host should be worried about; will you be able to pay the points required for anything?] system said in a cold emotionless voice and it continued

[And SP (System points) can be earned through Quest or by converting it from Fate value, 1 Fate value is equal to 100 System Points. Ah, another healthy reminder host when Fate value became zero your existence will be erased because you will have no protection against heavens, another thing if host has low fate value, then heavens favorites then killing them will be meet with heavens wrath and injuring or humiliating them might lead to them activating their blessing and get a surge in fate value.]

It seemed I have enraged the female inside the system with my comment and the more I heard it give me information the more my expressions became grim.

In the end I sighed and said 'I am sorry for before; I was not serious when I said that and it was not cool of me to say that.'

[I forgive you host] I heard its emotionless voice in my head and could feel that it was happy that I apologise for my comment. After finishing this conversation, I said.

'About that surge in fate value, what you trying say is that they are cockroaches and will be hard to kill due to their luck which even in bad situation will give them luck to become stronger through various opportunities.'

[Exactly host.]

'Hehe ... this will be interesting.' A grin couldn't help but come on face.

'So, what is the price for the information about rank above SSS.' I asked the system.

Seeing the price, I became speechless and sighed.
