One Punch Man: Half Asleep Hero

A young woman is attacked by a monster after having given up on her dreams to be a hero. She tries to fight off the monster but is eventually overpowered, after being rescued at the last second, she becomes determined to be the strongest damn hero this world has ever seen. I made the cover, I drew that shit, took me 2 and a half hours. I am gonna be real. I don’t want to edit this or even write season 2, so it’s just gonna be my first public fanfic. I might if it somehow gains traction which I highly doubt. Anyway, this is pretty much completed.

A Knight and A Fool

"Drive Knight?" I asked the robot humanoid.

Drive Knight was a known Class S hero. I don't say well-known because no one knows anything about him. Not even Bang knew anything when I had asked him about the other Class S heroes in the past.

Anyway, Drive Knight ignored me as his one red eye focused on the robot in front of us. It seemed to actively fear him, something I wasn't entirely sure a robot should be able to feel.

"Well, fighting a broken cyborg isn't too hard. You, evacuate the premises." Drive Knight acknowledged me, but seemingly only as a bystander.

Like he asked, I left. While I did want to see what the cyborg he referred to could do, I had no choice.

NOT!

I hid around the corner after pretending to leave. Bang had added some level of stealth training so I could probably hide fairly well unless Drive Knight scans the area.

Drive Knight lifted up the black box and it wrapped around him, turning one of his arms partially into a longsword.

"Silver." It seemed to be a rule that you had to at least mutter any names for things that you had.

He pointed the sword toward the cyborg and it suddenly extended forward, piercing the head of the cyborg.

Quick and efficient.

He retracted his blade and it transformed back into a box, and the cyborg's body crumbled due to the lack of any movement input.

It fell forward, lifeless.

"Seen enough?" His eye turned toward the entrance of the alleyway.

He clearly knew I was here. Who was I kidding, trying to hide from the most highly advanced machine I have ever seen.

"Maybe?" I peeked my head around the corner of the alley.

"Well there isn't much else to see. Hm?" Drive Knight seemed to notice something.

"Would you happen to be a student of Silver Fang?" He asked me.

"Well, yes. Does he talk about me?" I smiled slightly at the idea. Maybe I was someone to be proud of.

"A little too much honestly. It's kind of annoying." Drive Knight said honestly.

My smile widened a little more.

"Do you mind doing me a favour?" He changed the topic smoothly.

"Depends." I never immediately agree to a favour. If I don't want to do it, I won't.

"You'll have to agree for me to ask you."

'Ugh, this type! Now he's got my curiosity which pretty much forces me to concede!'

"Fine." My curiosity as to what could be that important overwhelmed my want to not do anything for this stranger.

"If you find any more of these cyborgs, do report it to me. If you run into one directly, dispatch it."

"Ooh, what for?" I was rocking on my heels like a little girl at this point despite us being pretty much the same height.

"That, I cannot tell you. I may if you ever become a Class S hero, however."

That roused my curiosity even more. What was he doing? I wanted to know so badly.

I left it at that however, as despite the lack of any facial features, he seemed to be getting annoyed.

It wasn't that hard of a favour and since I already agreed to it, I am already partial to helping him.

I wall jumped up to the roof of one of the smaller buildings next to the alleyway and made my way home, roughly jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

Now I was going to scout out a place in the ghost town to live off of freely.

Tomorrow.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Man, did this place get even more destroyed?" I looked at what I thought was a new giant hole in the side of a large abandoned apartment complex.
I wandered around like I did last time, kicking bits of rubble from who knows which building, until I happened upon a fairly intact area.
It was a shopping district, but it was a start at least. Everywhere wasn't destroyed like near the entrance at the very least.
It was a fairly nice area, I am surprised they up and abandoned this place. It was kind of comforting somehow, and it was nice to just take in the scenery without all the hustle and bustle of other places.
"Hm?" Something caught my attention.
A bald man walked casually past the street I was on. He seemed somewhat familiar, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
'Ah wait, if he lives here he might know a good place to stay.'
"Excuse me!" I ran toward him, and waved to get his attention.
He turned toward me and his extremely simple face nearly made me faceplant from the sudden burst of emotion it gave me.
I quickly recollected myself as I approached him. It would be rude to laugh at a poor soul who went bald at such a young seeming age.
"Would you happen to know any apartments or houses that are intact that I could live in?" I didn't bother giving him some sort of story. He didn't seem the type to care all that much anyway.
"Sure, there are a few here and there, but they don't have furniture in them anymore. The apartment that I am in has some." He didn't hesitate to help, which I was thankful for. It would be a hell of a lot easier if there was already furniture.
"Can you lead me there Mr... uh." I hinted at him to give me his name.
"Saitama, and sure, I am heading that way anyway." He led me down the street.
"Ah, my name is Fukui."
The name rang a few bells. The man who had saved me and inspired me to become a hero again had the same name. He wasn't bald however, so I wasn't entirely sure.
Not to mention Saitama hadn't made the news once, but he would be strong considering he pretty much one shot a monster, even if it was on the weaker end.
"Saitama? I recognize that name from somewhere."
"You do!?" He got a little excited for some reason.
"Mm." I nodded, "If it was you, then you had saved me a couple years ago."
He nodded and folded his arms, like he had expected something like that.
"If you don't mind me asking... What happened to your hair?"
"I trained so hard it all fell off." He said simply. He didn't seem entirely happy when he said that however.
I suppose everyone needs to trade something for power.
I had to trade my consciousness, and Saitama had to trade his hair.
How unfortunate.
A/N: This'll finally get serialized after this chapter goes up, so that's good.
I have already started to veer off track of my plans, but this is working out better the way it's going.
Oh ya, this is also the first time the protagonists name has shown up in like 10-ish chapters.
So THAT's a whoopsies.
In case you couldn't tell, the knight in the title is Drive Knight and the fool is Saitama.
Kind of getting bored lately. That's the reason why I started writing, to relieve boredom. And now I am getting bored of writing.
