A trash devil fruit can be dangerous with a worthy user

"Mo-Monster !" A horrified cry was heard from the pirates on the deck as I ripped apart the throat of one of them with my teeth. Blood entered my mouth as I spat out the the piece of flesh. Then I freed my arm from the mud giant behind me.

I knew that the swamp swamp fruit didn't got a good user for itself. It had a lot of potential. I didn't know what the current user was capable with the devil fruit. So I kept my guard up. But still I underestimated the enemy. I have seen how easily Luffy dealt with Caribou in the fishman island. And taking it as a parameter I imagined an enemy in my mind. But it was a great mistake. While mud itself is relatively harmless but the property of swamp swamp fruit is different.

After freeing my legs from the swamp, I defended my self from a few daggers coming from the swamp using the colour of armament.

Then using geppo I immediately went to air. Dealing with the strong wind and rain is easier than dealing with the mud on the deck.

Infront of me, was a giant monster made of mud.

It covered it's arm with colour of armament and punched towards me.

I gripped both of the sword in my hand tightly and used geppo to reach towards his arm. Covering both of my swords with the colour of armament I did a slashing motion as if trying to meet the fist head on. It was a faint move I learnt from Alfred.

Just as our clash is about to happen, I spun to the right and evaded his punch by a hair's breath. The running on the gigantic mud arm I reached the part where he hadn't used armament haki. Then swinging down my sword I cut off his entire arm.

But, just before my attack connected his body he let go of his arm and pulled out canons from his shoulder.

Even if I didn't take any damage from the canons due to my use of armament haki, it threw me off balance.

'Shit !'

He got hold of my feet and slammed me down on the mud on the deck.

In just last moment I was able to cover my entirement with the colour of armament and save myself from getting captured in him mud.

I never thought that this fight will be so hard. But I didn't have to win the fight to free my father.

I stabbed the sword in the mud as I intensified my armament haki.

Jumping back, I immidiately forced as much haki as possible in my sword and sent multiple conjugative sword slashes.

Even before my attacks reached him, my opponent let go off his elemental monster form and rolled away to the side in order to get away from deadly sword slashes.

I took this moment to move as first as possible and deliver another slash to his torso. This time even though he used colour of armament in time, my haki was clearly stronger than his.

The result was clear. A large slash wound appeared on his torso as he was thrown away buy the force of my attack, into the ocean.

As soon as the main threat was out of the way, I rushed inside the cabin.

"Outta my way !"

Kicking and slashing the pirates around me I made my way to the lower decks.

After slashing apart a metal door, I finally found the cages where the captured people were being kept.

The people who are conscious were alarmed by my presence.

The room was very poorly lit. But I didn't found it difficult to navigate my way to my father.

Like everyone Leon was bound by metal chains and was placed inside a cage along with many other people wearing same uniform as him. I sliced apart the cage.

"Maki ?" Leon was in daze. After getting captured by the pirates he has never thought that he would be able to see his family again.

But now seeing his daughter in front of him, he couldn't believe his eyes.

"Dad ! Can you walk ?" Maki asked him.

She was covered in blood and mud her top was missing as usual. It reminded Leon of her childhood when she used to come back home with a large boar, bear or crocodile.

It felt like a dream. But he realised that it was reality when and daughter woke him up by shaking him violently.

"Wake up !" Just as she was about to slap him which would really hurt, Leon shouted. "I am awake ! Now stop hitting me !"

"I was not hitting you. Anyway we don't have much time let's go." Maki said hurriedly

"Wait ! aren't you going to free them ? And how the hell did you find me ?" Leon asked his daughter.

"We can talk later and as per freeing them, I can, but they won't have anywhere to run in this small Island. And there is a strong pirate in this crew. I would rather not face him head on again. My ship was smashed into pieces. I was planning to escape with you in a lifeboat.

Now can we go already !" Maki was not in a mood to be a hero.

But Leon just couldn't leave his co-workers.

"Please at least three then that way they will get a chance to run away !" Leon knew, that despite his larger build and matured body in terms of strength, he was no where near her daughter. It was disgracefull and shameless to ask his child for help. But there is nothing more he can do in this situation.

Maki really wanted to hit his father in his head and kidnap him from there. His father was kind and raighteous. Even though my mom fell for him for these two qualities, in this world they are absolutely useless when you don't have strength to back it up.

I didn't have the key so I have to free then all by breaking their cage and their chains. Obviously it took a lot of time to do it individually. And that was a great mistake.
