A bad news
"I told you not to follow me ! You have friends in the village right. Then why do you keep following me everyday." I scolded the little rascal called Gem, Monkey D Gem. His face was exactly like Luffy's. In fact his dumb mind is also similar to luffy. The only difference between them is the hairstyle.
Gem is 8 years old now. But he is very small and weak compared to me when I was 8. Our height difference made at harder to guess our age.
"Because I wanna be strong like you !" The kid who was still wiggling like a worm shouted at me.
"Then stop following me you idiot. Following me will only get you killed. If you truly want to become stronger then follow the training methods that I have written on the board for you !" I scolded him even knowing that there will be no effect on him. The only person who Gem actually listens to, is our mom, Frey. She is super scary when she is angry. I doubt that even a sea king will stand a chance against an angry Frey.
But I have to admit, Gem might act dumb but in some cases he is really a genius. After learning observation Haki I managed to spot him every time he followed me into the forest. After failing for 30 times, he finally gave up. Or at least that's what I thought. But apparently I was very wrong. Somehow Gem managed to get hold on a telescope. I didn't know from where but after getting the old telescope he started to follow me from distance. But apparently I was too fast for him to follow even in long range with a telescope. I didn't even know until one day he almost followed me to the raven where his foot slipped from the branch and he fell down on the ground. If not for his cry then I would have been in the dark.
I couldn't take away that telescope from him because he always cried so loud that my ear drums almost burst from the sound.
So I decided to set covert traps all around the forest which will harmlessly capture the little brat. But obviously Gem didn't know about it.
"Alright, let me guess you again got trapped inside this banyan tree for third time in this week.
*sigh* How long have you been here ?"
"From the morning."
*Growl*
"I am hungry !"
"I know ! Now stop trying to burst my ear drums !"
I took him down from the trap as we headed back to home. As an unmutable chatter box, Gem didn't stop gossiping with me. Although I didn't responded to all of his comments, I had to occasionally reply back. Even with all his antics, Gem was a sweet kid. And it was impossible for me to not love him. While most of the time he is annoying, he still has his cute moments.
By the time we reached our home, the sun has already set.
But that was not the important matter.
The most important thing was that in front of the main door, Frey with a sweet smile on her face, waiting for us.
It could mean only one thing. Disaster !
"Oh boy ! She is pissed !"
There is no need to explain what happened afterwards. Both of us siblings got our fair share of beatings and curses. In the end she decided that we are not fit to live inside the house for that night. As the elder sibling I took the responsibility and slept outside in the cold.

From the light blue uniform with the logo of goa shipping, I recognised the man as an employee in the same company as my father. Leon was working in a commercial shipping company called Goa shipping company.
My father was not the only one from the village working in that company. There were many other people in the village who worked for Goa shippings.
So it was not uncommon to see one of their employees in the village every now and then. But the employee that I didn't recognise was making a bee line towards our house. And for some reason my heart sank from a very bad feeling.
The man came to a halt in front of our house.
"Hey kid, is this the house of Leon." The man didn't look happy. In fact from his face he seemed sad.
The bad feeling in my heart increased as I nodded my head.
"Yes, I am his daughter."
"I see...Is there an adult in the house ? I have some news regarding your father."
The man's face turned even more somber as he asked me to call mom.
I didn't pester him to tell me what happened, as mom should also listen to the news.
But before I could call for her, she opened the door and came out.
"What has happened to my husband ?" Mom asked worriedly.
"Please calm down. Because unlike some people, you still have some hope.
The ship, which was carrying cargo to pole star Island was attacked by a group of pirates. Three of our employees have died in the incident while 17 more went missing. Leon is among the missing people." The man said in a somber voice.
My heart sank hearing the news. In this era the pirates activities are not the highest compared to Roger's time. But one thing is very common in this time. Slavery.
Most of the pirate crews kidnaps people to sell them as slaves. If dad's ship is actually attacked by pirates then there is a high chance that he has been captured by the pirates.
"Do you know which pirate crew attacked them ?" I asked him.
"It was the tri head pirates. That particular pirate crew mostly operated in grand line but sometimes, it sails to the blues. Unfortunately I don't have much information on them. This incident has been reported to the marines. Now you can only hope that they catch the pirate crew before they do anything with them."
'Yeah, hope ! There is no hope !'
Marines can do nothing in this matter.
