One month

It's been a month since I came to the island. And I've finally progressed with my armament haki, to the point of being able to harden my whole arms and I can even hold the hardening in a fight. I have to use some of my focus on keeping them hardened though, as I can't do it subconsciously like I can do with my observation haki. Yet.

Content with my haki progress so far I decide to shift my focus on some martial arts techniques. More specifically, the martial arts style, Rokushiki. It's a superhuman arts style used by world government agents and some marines. And while I don't think I will be relying on the martial art style, I have to admit that some of the techniques are very useful.

The techniques that interest me the most are Geppo, and Soru. Geppo is a technique that allows you to 'fly' by jumping in the air. Sanji learned a version of a Geppo called 'Sky Walk', and he learned it by running everyday, increasing his speed which allowed him to run in the air.

Soru is a technique which allows for extremely fast movement. Now in the anime where the CP-9 agents were the most prevalent users of Soru they didn't use it to its full extent. Because Soru is achieved by kicking the ground ten times in the blink of an eye. So what if I managed to kick the ground a hundred times in the blink of an eye? That's my plan at least. I want to bring out the most of these techniques.

Considering both techniques required the user to have strong legs I started training them like never before. Luckily, I never skipped leg day, so my legs weren't weak to begin with.

I have also started to catch sea kings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because they contain so much protein. Literally, the gains are insane.

Of course, I still strive to improve my haki but, I didn't spend all my attention on it.

I also made a friend!

His name is Sonic, and he's literally a blue dog! Awesome! If I were to compare him to a breed back on earth he would be very similar to a corgi.

Honestly, it should be a crime to be as adorable as this little fella. The way his tiny legs are always running to keep up with me never fails to bring a smile to my face. Of course, I feed him sea kings as well. I plan to make Sonic the strongest dog in the world, rivaling the likes of Whitebeard and Kaido.

"Aren't you the best boy ever Sonic?"

"Woof!"

Sensing someone coming my way I end my philosophical debate with Sonic. Instead of getting ready to fight I take off my blindfold and look at my grandfather Rayleigh, and step(?)-grandmother Shakky.

"Gramps and granny!" I exclaim as I walk towards them with open arms.

Exchanging in a hug they greet me back.

"I was wondering when you were going to come." I said.

"I wanted to come earlier but Shakky insisted we wait another day so she could get her weekly newspaper." Rayleigh said in a joking tone.

"What can I say, knowledge is power after all, anyway how are you Asahi, ready to come home yet?" she asked me.

"Not quite I answer, but I'm fine. Actually I'm feeling better than fine, just look at this!" I tell them while hardening my arms.

Shakky's eyes widenid in response while Rayleigh just smirked. He probably checked my strength with his observation haki the moment I was in his range.

"That's certainly impressive, you've learnt hardening in a month without a teacher at the age of 12. Aren't you quite the prodigy." Shakky said in a teasing tone.

"I had a feeling this would happen," Rayleigh said in a proud tone.

Feeling heat rise up in my face I turn to the side.

"Hmpf, I work quite hard after all, you should know by now that I make the impossible possible anyway." I reply in faux arrogance.

"Ain't that right."

"Anyway Granny, what could possibly be in that newspaper to delay your visit to your dearest grandson." I ask with what some would call a pout. I would deny anyone who called it that though.

"Ohoh, interested in the news now are we? Well since you asked, it's been a hectic week, a new Warlord of the Sea has been announced. He goes by the name Doflamingo. And Queen Otohime has been murdered." she replies.

'Ahh, so it's that year huh. Remembering the world timeline, I recall what other events that will happen this year, such as Arlong taking over Cocoyasi village, and subsequently Belle-mère's death. Some other minor events also happen but those two are some of the most that will affect the plot the most in my opinion.

"Warlord of the Sea huh, maybe I should try it sometime." I reply.

The rest of the day was spent talking and laughing with my family and Sonic. Don't forget sonic. Until they left the next morning.
