058: Terrorist Collision! Kaido Seriously Injured!
Now,
Swish!
Boom...!
Bai Ye faced a myriad of cyan wind blades tearing through the sky and tornadoes churning up debris and the roaring sea. He moved decisively, eyes fixed on Kaido, who was causing destruction amid the dark clouds that split the world. With a single step forward—boom!—he pressed his foot down, sending visible ripples through the air. In an instant, a vast amount of seawater evaporated, the dry seabed exposed, and the land cracked violently. The ground gave way to a gaping, layered chasm.
Boom...!
Bai Ye then materialized in the air, the intense heat around him dissipating. Kaido, witnessing the terrifying sight, felt his pupils constrict. The next second, bright flames burst into the sky, sweeping aside all the blue wind blades and tornadoes. In the blistering heat, they disintegrated!
A path through the dark skies opened up. A figure bathed in flames, too striking to overlook, charged towards Kaido like a blazing meteor cutting through the night. The dragon's fearsome head froze as Kaido sensed the scorching waves of heat. With ample combat experience, Kaido snapped to attention, roaring a challenge: "Tornado Tempest! Take this!"
Kaido opened his mouth wide, and the dark clouds above discharged streaks of blue and white lightning, thundering towards the swiftly approaching Bai Ye. Kaido then spun his dragon body, releasing slicing winds in an attempt to thwart the oncoming figure.
But Kaido watched, stunned. The thunder struck Bai Ye, engulfed in flames, yet had no effect. It couldn't slow the man down. Not in the slightest. The 'Tornado Tempest' merely served as a momentum booster. In the next instant, Bai Ye burst through the wind blades and closed in.
At that moment, Kaido, standing with dilated pupils, felt a flicker of panic. Such incredible physical strength—what was happening? There was no sign of fatigue. In a roar of desperation, Kaido's massive, blue-scaled body surged with power. He faced Bai Ye head-on, prepared for a direct clash.
In the next moment, lightning crackled, and storm clouds shrouded the skies. A deafening collision resonated, echoing like thunder through the first half of the Grand Line. The clouds above were ripped asunder by the horrific aftermath, churning the sea and sending huge waves rolling toward distant islands, towns, and the heavens.
Boom...!
Boom...!
The bottom islands of Sabaody trembled. With Kaido's arrival came dark clouds, lightning, and thunder. Being closest to the battlegrounds of Bai Ye and Kaido, the Sabaody bottom islands felt the impact most intensely.
"Is the world ending?!"
"What is happening there?!"
"Oh my god!"
People were shaken, their anxiety surpassing even the Summit War once at the center of the world's attention. Now, many on the Sabaody Islands scrambled towards the edges and ports as panic set in. The surrounding seas boiled over, steaming, as the horizon visibly dropped. Simultaneously, the loud, thunderous aftermath made everyone on the Sabaody Archipelago acutely aware of the island trembling beneath their feet.
The huge waves rolled over like a tsunami, and the aftermath spread with a wind pressure that felt like a sharp blade scraping against the skin, causing pain. On Sabaody Islands, the scalps of countless people tingled. They watched the high temperature emanating from a distant sea area, while on the opposite side, the sky was shrouded in dark clouds with thunder flashing. It seemed as if the sea area had been split into two contrasting worlds by a terrifying force.
Clearly, the World Government had intended to use the Summit War to divert attention from "Operation Demon Slaying" and to clean the first half of the Grand Line. However, now with 'Kong's' defeat, and Kaido battling Bai Ye, it was near impossible to keep the attention away from the Grand Line.
"Ki, Captain Kid?!" someone shouted amidst the chaos. "Is that ability from the Four Emperors Kaido?!" A pirate clung to a root of the Yarchman mangrove, his body shaking as he tried to stabilize himself. His voice was laced with shock as he gazed at the world-ending sound waves and movements in the distance and cried out in despair, "Wasn't the Four Emperors Kaido supposed to attack Naval Headquarters on the first half of the Grand Line? How could he appear near Sabaody Islands?!" He spoke, but the other supernova pirates gathered on the islands that year paid him no heed, their attention fixed on the distant sky full of lightning and flames.
'Ascetic Monk' Urouge, taken aback, put his hands together and sighed, "Could that be the legendary Four Emperors Kaido? Who could Kaido be fighting to cause such a terrifying disturbance?" The earth-shattering movements from afar silenced Kid, Skurachman Arp, Basil Hawkins, and the others present. They, as this year's 'Supernova' pirates, were each a pirate who stood at the pinnacle of their own origins or the Grand Line's hometowns. They had so many dreams and aspirations pinned on the New World before entering it. But now, feeling just the aftermath of the clash of the true apex monsters from the faraway sea, they could imagine the impact it had on them. Solemnity and a trace of fear flickered in everyone's eyes.
All the ambitious pirates heading to the New World were acutely aware at that moment. They were facing the exaggerated and terrifying aftermath of the 'inhuman monster' from a vast distance of 873. This 'inhuman monster' was the delusion they dared to challenge - the 'Four Emperors'!
Meanwhile, as the aftermath continued to spread to Naval Headquarters and even across the Calm Belt to Amazon Lily, a growling sound of pain echoed across the entire Grand Line. This sound made many people above the bottom islands of Sabaody tremble. That voice was Kaido's!
Could the one fighting Kaido from afar be among the Four Emperors? What opponent could make Kaido scream in pain? Immense shock and mad conjecture flooded the minds of those who heard Kaido on the Grand Line. And on some nearby islands, as they felt the scorching heat from afar, someone trembled suddenly, eyes wide with realization. They couldn't be mistaken; this temperature was surely that of a 'sea taboo'!
Then, a deafening boom split the sky torn by lightning and thunder, and a huge body covered in blue scales crashed down from above, causing countless ripples of shock. It was Kaido, almost gravely injured in his 'Blue Dragon Form'.
