--------------------------------------------------------------------

It has been a year of rigorous training.

I practice swordsmanship every morning and engage in Body Technique exercises in the afternoon and evening. Occasionally, I seek knowledge of Sword Technique from my master in the evening. Excluding seven hours for sleep and mealtime each day, the rest of my time is dedicated to sword practice and Body Technique exercises.

During this period, I collaborated with my master, Roy, several times to sell intelligence, earning millions of Berries.

In the realm of 'Thunder Core' development, I have been immersed in research. Besides the initial 'Thunderbolt method,' I successfully cultivated a new Ability.

This development was intentional, not a product of experiment failure.

Before my body fully adapted to the low intensity of the 'Thunderbolt Method,' I slightly enhanced Lightning. The effects were striking, increasing the training impact from three to four times.

One day, upon returning to the sword gym, I attempted to push the limits of this enhancement.

As expected, greed got the better of me. After directly raising the Lightning intensity, the experience was excruciating. It felt as if countless worms were biting and twisting within my body, and I lost consciousness in a state of bliss.

When I awoke, the room was bathed in daylight. Lying in bed, my right hand still infused, I overheard Roy and a middle-aged doctor discussing my daring training methods. Walking over, I couldn't help but mockingly comment on the happy experience of fainting.

Roy, with a smirk, and a degree of mouth that I had grown accustomed to, seemed unfazed. In a unique laughter, I teased Roy and threatened to tell the second sister about his antics with the restaurant's waiter.

This laughter was unfamiliar to Roy and the Nice masters, but as we became more acquainted, I let go. Even during our initial interactions, the expressions on their faces didn't portray concern for a sick individual.

Roy, adopting a serious tone, warned against making such jokes in front of Ann, my master. Feeling hungry, I expressed a craving for seafood fried noodles from the town. Roy, in response to my request, left with a playful insult, and I couldn't help but smile, reminiscing about the first time I encountered my master's second sister.

Vail also smiled as he recalled the first encounter with the second sister.

It happened while he was working with Roy's brother in the back mountain train. From a distance, he spotted a figure with long black hair, dressed in a purple tight-fitting shirt, revealing a generous neckline, along with black trousers and high heel boots. A deep red sword adorned the waist of this tall, glamorous older woman who approached.

Vail couldn't help but wonder why such a beauty with a sword would venture into this desolate back area. The woman, addressing Roy as her husband, introduced Vail as her younger brother, emphasizing his young age. This left Vail stunned and filled with admiration for Roy's ability to find such a beautiful and fascinating wife.

As Roy returned, he noticed Vail muttering incomprehensible words, prompting a swift kick to the backside and a stern reprimand.

Introducing the woman to Vail, Roy declared, "This is my wife, Olivia Ann, also a Swordman. You can call her the second division sister or Anshijie."

Vail politely greeted her, expressing his pleasure at meeting her for the first time. Ann nodded in acknowledgment, describing Vail as a good younger brother. After some brief exchanges, Ann excused herself, citing the master's need to speak with her.

Reflecting on these memories, Vail smiled, taking a moment to contemplate.

He pondered the significant reaction his body had to the heightened intensity of Lightning. Comparing it to the first time he awakened Lightning, where the intensity was much higher but only caused a sting, not the direct pain leading to fainting.

Examining the sensations of lightning within his body, Vail sensed a clue.

During the initial Lightning awakening, he didn't control it directly, implying that Lightning was working on his musculoskeletal system. The 'Thunderbolt' method, rooted in Raikage's technique, focused on stimulating body cells, and the distinction became clear.

One form involves stimulating bones and muscles, while the other targets smaller cells with varying levels of strength. Vail was onto something significant in understanding the intricacies of his newfound abilities.

With these thoughts in mind, Vail initiated the Lightning once again. This time, the focus was not on stimulating the cells but rather the muscles and bones.

Starting with a subtle intensity, he gradually increased the Lightning's power. When he felt the stinging sensation in his body, Vail stopped amplifying the intensity, maintaining the maximum strength that wouldn't cause discomfort.

Observing his body, the experience of running the 'Thunderbolt' was entirely different. A light blue glow emitted from the surface of his body, enhancing speed and nerve response by about 2 times, while Strength and Stamina saw a 0.5 times improvement.

Satisfied with this new technique, Vail couldn't help but be pleased with the inadvertent development of such a practical move. His joy sparked a new idea.

Vail turned his attention to the cupboard where two high-priced swords, known as the best in Loguetown, rested. Unlike Pirate World's swords, these were straight swords, traditional and unique. With a total length of 103cm, a blade length of 80cm, and a shank length of 23cm, they resembled stab swords but wider, featuring an eight-sided design to enhance cutting force and endurance.

The blade's anti-reflective ridge, black rounded hilt, and Sea King-like skin wrapping gave the swords a distinct appearance. As per the teacher's specific request, they were black, red, or purple, avoiding silver or gold.

Vail, respecting his teacher's wishes, picked up the identical swords, inserting them on his waist, one on each side. With both hands crossed, he pulled out the two swords. Despite his stature of around 1 meter, handling the two-meter swords proved challenging.

Unsure if the idea would succeed, Vail closed his eyes, once again channeling Lightning through his muscles and bones. This time, the energy didn't stop at his back but extended to the two swords until they emitted a light blue glow.

Persisting, Vail continued to increase the Lightning's intensity on the swords, generating a faint zī zī sound in the room. The swords, now more than just their appearance, revealed a silvery light within the light blue.

Approaching a corner table, Vail, with minimal resistance, cut through it, causing the tabletop to fall. Pleased with the results, he chuckled, realizing the potential of Lightning enhancing the sharpness of weapons.

Vail named this new ability 'Lightning Mode,' appreciating its simplicity. Acknowledging the importance of a memorable name, he decided against creating complex titles that would be easily forgotten. Pleased with his achievement, Vail stored the swords and Lightning, noting that this ability could be sustained for about two hours with his current stamina.
