I turned to stare at Vee, who looked at me, not the art. “Did you know about this?” I swept my arm around the room that was larger than I would have thought from the outside.
“I did.”
“And you didn’t think to warn me?”
He chuckled and held up his glass. “What would be the fun in that?”
I clinked my glass against his, took a sip of the bubbly beverage, and hissed, “Bastard,” but I couldn’t stop the smile that split my face.
Laughing, he tilted his head to our right. “Shall we?”
People spread out all over the room, watching the art or mingling. Vee ignored everyone and steered me to a huge painting. It was stunning. Two male bodies were entwined, blue limbs so tangled I couldn’t tell where one ended and the other began. A red mouth sucked a red nipple and two red cockheads dueled below the waist.
