The One

Her whole body was trembling in fear and dripping in heavy sweats. She unlocked the car's door and her trembling hand slowly moved to the door's handle. She held on to it for some time contemplating if it was the right decision to go. Her hand slowly opened the car's door. The cold icy breeze welcomed her skin, but her body was too tensed up inside to shiver from the icy wind. Her one foot dropped to the ground and the other as she slowly stepped out. She could barely hold her ground as her legs were trembling in fear.

She kept quiet looking at the back of the car where the sound came from earlier, and her ears captured a hard breathing. The breathing was so loud. She held on to the car for balance and slowly took scary steps on the icy ground. Two steps away to get to the back of the car, she halted as she could not hear the heavy breathing from earlier. She swallowed and placed her right foot and then her left. Her eyes opened as she saw no one but blood on the icy ground.

She whipped her head about to run back to the car when something caught her eyes.

"Hello....."

"Ah......" She screamed at the toppest pitch of her voice.

She struggled for air as the creature with long black claws and strong hand strangled her and threw her away to the ground. Blood gushed out from her nose and her body had become weak from that one heavy throw. She coughed out blood and tried to get back up on her feet, but the creature had already approached her, holding her neck tight, raising her up from the ground and her legs dangling in mid-air.

"You should have just listened." It said and threw her away to the icy ground hard again.

She screamed in pain as more blood gushed out from her mouth and tears rushing down her eyes. It approached her again and held her tight on the neck raising her up from the ground.

"But you're just stubborn." It said and the next thing was a heavy cool breeze blowing pass them taking the creature down to the ground as she fell on the ground.

All she could here was loud screeches as her body had become too weak to open her eyes or to even try standing on her feet. After a minute, the loud screeches could not be heard. She heard footsteps approaching her slowly and she tried to get up on her feet and run, but her body gave in. She felt the person scooping her into his arms as she lied on the ground.

"Are you okay?" The voice so cool like the icy wind.

Her eyes were still shut close but the voice she heard sounded really familiar in her ears. Her weakened mind wavered where she had heard the voice. It was definitely not Francis or anyone closest to her. But she could bet her life that she had heard this familiar voice from somewhere. But who?

She couldn't even utter a single word as more blood gushed out from her mouth and nose.

"I'll help you." He said and gathered her in his arms and stood up.

A loud heavy blow landed on his back forcing him to drop Jane on the icy ground and him lying flat on her. He was quick to get back on his feet holding the creature's tight fist as it was about landing a punch on him again. Another creature had joined in.

He managed to land a heavy punch on the creature's chest causing it to stagger backwards. It stood it ground not falling down and all that could be heard was the sound of heavy punches. The creature's claws cut his face.

"Is that all you got?" His voice deep sounding like the beast from within had awakened.

A large force hitted on the creature causing the creature to lie down back flat on the ground. He was about doing his final killing, when another one came leaping from the dark clouds and hit him hard on the ground. The punch was too heavy affecting his heart causing blood to rush from his mouth.

By her hearings, she understood that another one had joined the fight. There was not an ounce of strength in her to make get on her feet, but she felt one of the creature walking to her and stood halfway closer to her. The other one got up on its feet.

"Let's kill him." Said the other one.

"No. We've found something more interesting." Said the one closer to her.

"What do you mean?" Asked the other one coming closer.

"Look. She's the one. Let's go tell master."

And with that, a sirenic devilish laugh echoed in the dark place and in no time, they were gone.
