The sun had started kissing its horizon when they got down from the car. Jane stretched out her hands inhaling the fresh morning breeze. They've been in the car for hours. The view was beautiful very early in the morning. She walked with Francis by his side and what she saw made her eyes wide and her mouth dropped open. A big plane came into view.
"Wow." She said in a whisper. "Is this your's?" She asked not taking her eyes of it.
He halted his steps and she halted too. Her brow raised up wondering why he suddenly halted. He walked closer and narrowed his face closer to her. His eyes remained unfathomable.
"It's our's." And with those two words, he walked away like he didn't speak to anyone.
Her eyes blinked at what he said and her cheeks puffed. "Tsh. He just said that and walked away like he never said anything. Such a man." She said and walked away.
She entered the plane after he did. The inside was beautifully decorated and the chairs were milky white in colours and tables were in the front of beautiful chairs. At the left of the plane, lied a long couch there.
Her heart accelerated fast as she sat on the window seat close to him. She was acrophobic and now she regretted refusing not to enter the plane. Beads of sweats formed on her forehead. She clenched her skirt into tight fistballs.
"Scared?" He asked looking at her with his indecipherable eyes.
"No.." She lied confidently.
He chuckled inwardly. "Your legs..."
"It's nothing." She said cutting him off immediately. "I... I'm fine. I'm not scared okay. I'm not scared."
He just stared at her and threw his face back to the blank space. Now she wished she hadn't lied about that. Her body stiffened as the plane began to move.
It was a private plane and except from the pilots and them, there was no one present. The plane had started taking off when she started feeling a bit nausea. She couldn't control the feeling anymore so she held on to his hands tightly, squeezing and shutting her eyes close. Her blood pressure increased and she could feel an adrenaline rush in her body.
Her eyes opened slowly as the plane was now steady in the air. Her heartbeat reduced its pace a little. She didn't realize she was holding on to his hand.
"You're not scared you say?" He asked mocking her.
Her cheeks puffed. "No..I wasn't scared. I..you know....was feeling the uhm...you know, the feeling of being up here." She lied making him smile a little.
"Feeling you say?" He asked raising a brow.
"Y..yes. I wasn't scared."
His lips wried up. "You're such a pretty bad liar you know?"
"Lie?" She echoed the word with her eyes wide open. She knew she was lying, but still decided to say it after all. She had tried masking her fear a while ago after telling herself continuously that she can do it. But when the plane took off, her mask fell off and fear cloaked her body instantly. She lied because she didn't wanted to look weak to him anymore. She wanted to be brave like her friend Lisa even if its just this once. "I wasn't lying. I...I wasn't scared. I was brave. Brave." She lied.
A smile graced his face. "Brave you say?" He said looking at her and raised his hand she was holding on tight.
Her eyes widened and her cheeks turned red in embarrassment. She didn't realize she was holding on to his hand. She immediately shrugged her hand off. "I still wasn't scared. E...even if I was holding on to you. I wasn't, okay." She lied cutely at his face and turned around to the window. She felt really embarrassed and she can't explain why she had to lie to him even if he was saying the truth.
He didn't say anything after that even if he was so sure she was lying and only trying to mask it. The plane went quiet after that.
He rested his head backwards and sighed with his eyes shut. It was certain he was bothered about something. She looked at him and noticed his look. He had been having that look since he came back. There was something definitely eating him up. She hated the feeling that she can't help him in whatever he was facing. Sometimes, she wanted to suck out all his negative feelings. She wished her time with him could be longer. Only a week left and these whole thing will be over. It broke her heart as she thought about it. She was deeply in love with him now. Her body, soul and spirit knew it was him. But she didn't have enough time with him. Even if she did, life could not spare out some for her. It was really sad.
