Night Together

"It's already late." Lisa said looking at the time on her phone. "It's passed midnight now. So I guess you're spending the night here then."

"Yeah. I can't go back home by this time and you know that." She said undressing. "I'll call grandma to tell her I'll be spending the night with you so she won't have to worry."

"Okay. I'm going to shower now. See ya." She said heading to the bathroom door.

"Okay." Said Jane who was standing half naked with her phone on her hand dialing her grandma's number.

"Hello granny."

"Hello dear. How are you?" Her grandma asked in an almost sleepy voice.

"I'm good. Grandma. I just wanted to tell you that I won't make it home tonight. It's quite late now."

"Okay. So you'll stay at Lisa's right."

"Yes."

"Okay."

"Sorry I woke you up."

"It's alright. No biggie."

"Good night."

"Goodnight." She said and hunged up.

She threw her phone on the bed and yawned. "Feeling sleepy now."

She quickly removed her black lacy underwear and joined Lisa in the bathroom.

After a while they stepped out.

"I'm so tired."  Lisa said drying her hair with the towel on her hand and moving to the direction of the wardrobe by the left.

"Me too."

"You hungry?" Lisa asked.

"No." She said yawning.

"Okay. Here, wear this." Lisa handed her a short black nightgown.

"Thanks."

"I'm off to bed now." She said as jumped on the bed.

Soon Jane joined her on the bed. She layed down staring at the ceiling and after a while she spoke.

"Lisa?"

"Hmm." She answered in a half sleepy voice.

"About...about the man from earlier?"

"Which? The one I punched earlier?"

"No. The..the other one I was supposed to go out on a date with."

Suddenly, Lisa turned and faced her, lying on her side. "What about him?"

"Nothing.I....I was...."

"You like him uhn?" She asked excitedly biting her lower lip.

"No, Lisa. I was just wondering if you've known him as a Wang. I mean, the Wang's are on all TV channels, magazines and they're the richest in the country, I was just flabbergasted when I saw him."

"Hmm, you're right. The Wang's children are barely seen on TV." She said in a sleepy tone. "But I must say, I do know all the Wang's children except from him." Lisa averted her gaze to the ceiling and let out a sigh. "Even when I saw him at the bar the other day, I had no idea he was a Wang. So I was also shocked when I saw him at the party as a Wang."

"Wow." She said now staring at Lisa. "So you're saying that he actually hid himself from the world all this time?"

Lisa averted her gaze to her. Both of them now facing each other. "Hmm. I guess so too. The rest of the children can be seen on TV once in a while, but him....You know, I actually thought the Wang's had only four children."

"Hmm, me too. So if you don't know that he existed, then I don't think others will know."

"You're right." She said averting her gaze from Jane to the ceiling. "Then I guess no one or only few people knew about his existence as a Wang apart from friends and family. Wow, this is amusing."

There was a long silence before Jane yawned out loudly. "Did you notice something about him?"

"Yes..."  She stared at Jane's puzzled face. "That day I walked up to him, I sensed his cold aura before I could even say a word. His dark eyes were emanating something dangerous. He barely smiles and he barely talk either. And do you know, for the first time in my entire life, I was actually afraid of someone."

Jane blinked her eyes in shock. She knew her bestfriend has never been afraid of anything or anyone. But she was scared of him? Even before talking to him?

She sighed and stared at the ceiling. "I still don't know how I even got the courage to walk up to him and say a word that day. Tsh, my heart was racing really fast. I really can't tell, but all I do know is that something dark is lurking behind that beautiful face of his."

Lisa had the ability to detect someone, or notice when something is wrong. It was her natural ability.

"Something dark?" She echoed those words in shock with eyes wide opened.

"Hmmm."

"Like what?"

"I don't know. All I do know is that there is something hidden within him. Something odd, something strange." She yawned louder and spoke. "Oh goodness Jane, I'm really sleepy now."

"Oh. Okay, then. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." She said lying on her side, her back facing Jane. "You go to bed soon now okay." She said in a half sleep.

"I will."

Jane remained in that position for a while before staring at the ceiling. Everything that happened at the party, the things Lisa said earlier, the man, all of it kept replaying on her head. Her mind and her body were unease. She knew she needed some rest, she needed to sleep, but even if she wanted to succumb to what is calling her, her mind and her body can't let her eyes shut close.
