I'll Come With

"I'm just asking you to love me for a day."

He scoffed. "A day or a minute is also an impossible thing to do."

Another tears were threatening to fall but she had to hold her grip. "I...."

"You should go to bed now Jane."

"But there's....."

"You've had a long day today. I think you should rest."

"I..."

"Goodnight ." He said and walked away leaving the heart broken girl alone.

She watched him ascending the stairs like he hadn't talked or seen no one. She sniffed and breathed out.

"I asked for this despite his warnings. So I'll do it. It's just a week left and I'll bare anything that comes my way for the sake of love." She spoke trying to remain confident.

But deep down she wished he could just act like he did love her. For heaven knows that she'll be the most happiest person if that happened. It was easier said than done when she asked for a one-sided love. It was really maddening. Now she understood how it felt like to be in a one-sided relationship from the books she read, the sad stories she had heard from people and the movies she had seen. She wouldn't even wish her enemy to be in a one-sided relationship.

A little something flickered in her mind. She had seen in movies where love turns a cold heartless man to a warm hearted one. A smile lit on her face. Yes, she knows it's not a fairytale world but she still have to give it a go if her love for him was strong enough to change him.

"One week left uhn?" She muttered to herself. "Fine."

She raised a brow and staring into the empty space in front of her analyzing the things to do and how to do it. She understood very well that it will be a very difficult one, but she have to still give it a try. Even if he acts like he did not love her or is not into the market of love, she still have to give it a go. Her heart felt relief and lighter now as she thought of something and now her only prayers is that it goes as planned.

She breathed out loudly and smiled widely at herself like she just had a victory.

"Starting from tomorrow." She said happily.

She ascended the grand golden stairs. When she got to her room, he wasn't there. She had thought they'll be spending the night together. That didn't bother her anymore as she shrugged of that thought. She was already too tired from a long day journey.

***

It was past midnight when her eyes opened. Her throat had become so dry, she had to drink water. She got out of the bed and walked out of the room only to blink her eyes in shock.

"Where are you going to by this time of the night?"

She had spotted Francis coming out of his room all dressed in black as always. She asked because it was in the middle of the night and he was quite in a haste.

He rushed downstairs like he hadn't seen anyone and she ran down the stairs to catch up with him. Her heartbeat fastened as she thought that something might have happened. Thankfully, she was able to hold a edge of his coat and he halted. He turned around to see her and she looked into his eyes to find something. But it was void.

"Where are you heading to in a haste by this time of the night?"

"What're you doing up so late at night?" He asked in a cold voice.

"I....I woke up feeling really thirsty. So I came downstairs to have a glass of water."

"Drink the water and go to bed now." He said about to take his leave when she stopped him again.

"Did something bad happen?" She asked looking worried.

He turned to her with a still expressionless look. "Jane, go to bed now."

"No. How do you expect me to sleep peacefully when you're in such a haste in the middle of the night."

He shrugged her hand of his coat and headed to the door. She walked fast to catch up with him. And all of a sudden, he turned around really fast and held her shoulders tightly. She looked at his eyes and it was dangerously cold than ever.

"Don't step out of this door till I return." He said in gritted teeth.

Her heart beat increased a million times faster. "Did some....."

"Go to bed now and wait for my return."

She was so reluctant. "No I want to come along with you."

He let go of her shoulders and still keeping a deadly look. "I hate repeating myself Jane. Do as I say this instant."

"And I hate seeing the people I love suffer. So I'll come with and that's final." She said courageously into his eyes.
