Getting Dressed

After taking her shower, she walked out to see her grandma in her room. She was sitting on the chair next to her table bringing out some makeup kits. Her grandma can give you a makeover that can change your face into a goddess. To Jane, her grandma is the coolest of all times.

She gestured for her to come sit on the chair.

"I'll help you get dressed." She said when Jane sat down on the chair she just stood up from.

"Awwwn, grandma you're the best." Hugging her tight around her waist and smiling.

"Okay now, time to get ready." Sounding serious.

"Yes." She said pulling away for the hug. "Granny, I....I really don't want the makeup to be all flashy please. It should just be light." She said staring at her grandma with a cute puppy eyes.

Knowing what her grandma is capable of doing, she had to beg using those cute eyes. Her grandma will definitely give her something flashy.

"Shut up." Her grandma said hitting her with one of the makeup brush. "You know absolute nothing. So sit down, shut up and let me do my job, okay?"

"Okay grandma. But....."

"I said shut up," she hit her with the brush again. "I don't want to hear a single word from you."

Jane nodded afraid that she might hit her again.

About an hour passed by when she finished styling Jane's hair. The makeup started shortly after that.

Jane trust her grandma with things like this. Her grandma is a god to fashion. 'Fashion probably worship her' she said in her mind. Nobody could surpass her. Even at her old age, she still manages to look her utmost best. Glaring at her grandma one more time, she noticed that she was putting on a very beautiful red cheongsam. It was flower print. Her hair packed nicely, her makeup also done very beautiful, and her lips painted in red. She always looks her best all the time, even when she doesn't have plans on going out that day. Jane chuckled inwardly.

Her dad once told her that her grandma once owned a fashion store, back then when she was younger. He said he grew up knowing his mother as a fashion icon. She wouldn't dare let her children step out of the door without looking good that day. Her dad once told her a story of how grandma will refuse eating his wife's food sometimes because she never looked good or sexy all the time. Always simple, she complained all the time. She said if she ate her food, it might take away the little sexiness left in her body, and that his wife's simple dressing were blinding her eyes. Jane smiled at the thought of that. It was really amusing. 'Oh grandma, you're so funny.' She said within herself.

Her father also told her a story of how her fashion store crashed. Grandma's husband was very ill one day. She tried everything she could to save him. She used her business money, and her savings from the bank. Because those weren't enough to save him, she took a loan from the bank because those were her only option. The bank granted her the money because she had a good business and they saw it was doing well. Her friends, her relations, even her husband's relations abandoned her when she needed them the most. The bank threatened her to pay on time or they'll take both her fashion store and house. She thought everything will be fine once he gets back on his feet, but things got from bad to worse when her husband didn't wake up one morning. She was devastated. Because of the traumatic experience of the death of her husband, she didn't get back on her feet again. When the time came for the bank to take their money, she couldn't pay and her store and home were seized. Her husband, her home and her business, all gone in the blink of an eye. And since then, grandma and her dad have been living in this small house compared to the one her grandma had.

When she had finished dressing up her child, she scrutinized her handwork. "Okay, now, you can look in the mirror." She said in a very happy voice.

Jane blinked in complete surprise. "Is this.....Is this really me?" She uttered still gaping at herself in the mirror.

Jane was wearing a long black mermaid gown, covering her legs, a green emerald necklace and earrings, and a pair of black pointed heels. Her hair was styled into bouffant ponytail bun, making her look classy.

"Wow, grandma. This..... This is beyond words." She said still checking herself out in the mirror. Her beautiful curves made the dress look stunning even more.

"I told you. Just let me do my work." She said very proudly and excited.

"Jeez," she ran to her for a hug, "you're the best. You're just the coolest granny anyone would ever ask of. I'm so lucky to be among your offsprings."

"I love you my darling and you know I'll do anything for you." Her grandma said with so much love in her voice.

"Thank you and I love you more." She said with so much emotions and tears threatening to rain down her eyes.

Her grandma pulled away from the hug immediately and gently cupped her face not to ruin the makeup.

"Don't cry. You're such a cry baby you know. And now look, you're going to ruin your makeup." She said in a calm tone.

"Haha," she sniffed blinking her eyes severally not to let the tears roll down. "I...I won't cry. I'm just touched." She said with a smile.

"Okay now. It's time to go." And she gently pulled her hands away from her face.

"What??" Jane screamed from the top her voice in complete shock.
