Lexy tossed her phone back and forth between her hands, second guessing when was the best time to call Luke. She'd waited two days for him to call her, and had been sadly disappointed by the lack of contact.
In the back of her head, she worried that Luke had already changed his mind, and she had made a fool out of herself by asking Clyve for permission to share their true relationship status. If that were the case, she'd make him pay dearly if he ever showed up in front of her again.
Please let him show up in front of her again. Luke had quickly become an itch she was dying to scratch.
She fumbled her phone onto the bed when a notice of a new message broke the silence. Thank goodness for the soft surface. She couldn't afford to replace her phone and eat for the next two months.
Luke: Can I call?
