Chapter 16
Since Neil’s specialty was hoof and leg problems, he was way ahead of most of the group when it came to this information. This allowed him to let his attention wander as to why Rolf hadn’t shown up to handle the presentation himself.
Something caught Neil’s attention. He looked to the side and saw Rolf standing just inside the door, his arms folded across his massive chest. Rolf noticed Neil looking his way. Neil smiled and nodded. Rolf ducked his head slightly in return of Neil’s greeting and quickly left the shed.
Later that night after he and Kip had spent an hour enjoying each other in bed, with Kip expertly topping Neil at Neil’s request, Neil mentioned Rolf’s strange behavior.
“I haven’t the foggiest,” Kip said. “But like I told you yesterday, Rolf is a mystery to most of us.”5
