Chapter 15
Neil was glad he hadn’t been able to actually talk to his sister. He knew from the tone of her message a person to person would have carried more of a reprimand.
“What’s up?” Kip asked as he walked up behind Neil. “Trouble?”
Neil felt the need to talk about this with someone, so he said, “Let’s make our lunch and I’ll tell you.”
Later as they sat at a table eating their ham and Swiss sandwiches, Neil told Kip the whole story of his relationship with Jordan.
Kip shook his head. “That’s why I make it clear where I’m at in a relationship right off. Then you can always do an update if things change.”
“I wish I had, but I must’ve been out to lunch or something. I misread the whole situation. I didn’t think it was anything more than really good friends having their needs met,” Neil said. “Once I did figure it out, I was too chicken to confront him.”
“Look, it’s only been a day. If you don’t want to Dear Johnhim…”
“I don’t!” Neil said emphatically.
