CHAPTER 3

I headed to the nurses office in the opposite direction and knocked before swinging the door open, Nurse Jada instantly turned to me and a mischievous smile crept up her face before she spoke

"I'm guessing that's a yes then".

I laughed lightly and nodded my head, after she made the important phone calls I bid her goodbye and left.

I walked down the empty hallway glad I won't run into anyone that'll piss me off when I saw this weird girl smiling at me. I shot her an icy glare so she'll stay away from me unfortunately her smile only widened.

"Listen Blondie,if you're here to piss me off do yourself the favour and go away because I'm in no mood for bullshit now"

I said staring her down

Her smile now turned into laughter,

I became very disturbed.

  Who was she?

Now that I think about it I've never seen her in my school before. Grinning from ear to ear she said

"Scarlett Maya Winters your mother was right when she called you her little fire cracker"

I froze on hearing those words and stared at her blankly.

Her smile now turned into an evil smirk as she stretched out her hands for a handshake

"I'm Jessica, Jessica Hales and its nice to meet you"

I stared at her hands for a second before I did the only sensible thing I could think off.

Run.

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me till I reached the bus stop,I couldn't call my dad to come get me because it was still early so I boarded a bus home.

I got home to meet my aunt's at each other throats I groaned internally and decided not to go through the front door and instead snuck in through the back and tip toed to my room.

Minutes later boredom had eaten deep into my skin, and I still had 3 hours left before school would be over so I decided to take a stroll.

The whole house was awkwardly quiet but I didn't mind, as far as people weren't at each other's throats I was okay with it.

I walked down the road and decided to go into the woods where I saw a little dry tree and kicked it out of frustration. I screamed loudly out of anger when it didn't break, I paused to take a deep breath wondering what was wrong with me.

Since I came back from the clinic I've been snapping at the slightest provocation and I was getting really worried.

"You do know you're lost right" a voice said out of nowhere, out of reflex I turned to run away but bumped into someone and fell again.

Wow the ground really hates me

I thought to myself

"Goodness" I said clutching my chest and trying to calm my racing heart. "didn't anyone teach you not to sneak up on people like that. I nearly had a heart attack"

I was expecting her to apologize for almost killing me instead she poked me.

She literally poked me in the head

Twice

"What are you" she said while trying to examine my ears and check my eye color

"Get off me you creep" I said pushing her away "Why are you even stalking me"

She stared at me for a split second and laughed humorlessly "Me?...Stalk you??...No thank you, infact I feel rather unfortunate that I'm stuck with you. At the moment I'd rather be anywhere but here"

Well that was rude.

"Listen here you crazy woman being around you suffocates me. I'm glad to let you know that your feelings are mutual, heck I'm not even interested in knowing you or anything that concerns you so please" I clasped my hands together "leave me alone"

She just looked at me and rolled her eyes "Always the drama, no can do kiddo you're coming with me"

If she keeps rolling her eyes like that they'll roll to the back of her head.

Her head snapped to mine immediately and she glared at me.

I wonder if she heard that....

Before I could react or give her any nasty comeback, she covered the distance between us with flash speed and sprayed something on my face that made me feel dizzy immediately.

Where did she learn to run like that.

"That's it baby, go to sleep"

I felt two strong arms grab me before I hit the ground, only one name lingered in my head before I blanked out completely..... Dad.

UNKNOWN POV

I managed to trail her scent to her house but I could still smell the nymph so it meant she was also hot on the trail. I had easy access into the house cos it wasn't locked.

My senses were on high alert cos it felt too easy, I could sense someone approaching before the door flung open.

I couldn't believe my eyes,

his eyes wondered round before landing on mine.

He let out a loud growl "Simon"

I chuckled softly "Jaxon, I've missed you too"

"What are you doing in my home Simon"

I cocked an eyebrow at him "That's no way to welcome your old friend Jaxon. I see you mated with that woman even after all the warnings"

"Shut your trap Simon,what I do or don't do is none of your business so do me the honor and get lost"

I glared at him "I have been sent to retrieve the jewel"

Fear flashed through his eyes and he ran past me to her room I suppose. I followed suit and we barged into her room to meet it empty.

I bolted out of the house and following her scent i ran into the woods nearby Jaxon hot on my trail.

Her scent just stopped abruptly, I groaned silently Sire would definitely kill me if I go back empty handed.

I didn't want to lie.....

I couldn't.

It would earn me a more painful death.

I was about to phone him when his call came through, I could literally hear my heartbeat in my ears.

"Hello Sire"

"Change of plans, return" and he hung up.

Change of plans?

I wonder what he's planning this time.

I stared in the direction I came through, I had so many questions to ask Jaxon but I guess duty calls.
