A Supreme Knight named Aizen Barthomelo had spent decades trying to stop the endless wars that had been going on in the Azure Realm; an age of war that brought a history of hatred and strife, death and destruction, despair and regret, sorrow and adversity. However, he still failed in the end, even though he was the most powerful warrior in the realm. Then, he was given a second chance to prevent the catastrophe and bring peace to all sentient beings. He returned to the past when he first entered the academy; three years before the Omni War began. It was the time that he met the engineer who created a new, otherworldly magic technology that changed the course of the wars. Follow Aizen as he embarks on an adventure to gather comrades to end the inevitable Omni War through the battle of wits, the warfare of strategies, and the power of unity! ======================================= This is a work of fiction. "Announcement will be made later. No ceremony is required. So you can relax." Ainkrad said. He was telling Aizen that the procedure was not complicated as long as one accepted the title.
Everything looked easy and was not a hassle at all. However, Aizen knew that that also meant he carried the school's name on his back.
The title of model student did have perfect privileges for him, that only needed to enhance his physical trait. In reality, he didn't need to learn much about magic since Reeva had taught him about lightning-elemental magic. In fighting, he also had a collection of techniques that suited his spirit magic.
In the end, there was nothing Aizen required to learn any more at Raven Academy. Thus, he could skip that step to jump to that peak strength recovery stage.
The current Aizen couldn't go astray because he needed the school's facilities for his physical training. In addition, the privilege of the student model was also useful for his need for light armor and weapons.
If he wasn't offered the student model, he didn't mind if he should be kicked out of school. But now, with the right to access Raven Academy's high-level facilities, it would be a shame if he missed it.
"Before that, can I borrow some items from the practice facility that students who are about to take the graduation test have access to?"
"Sure. Come with me." Kallias said.
Aizen, Ainkrad, and Kallias went together to the practice room. It was in the same building as the Raven Academy principal's office.
Arriving there, Aizen realized that the training room was more like an armory with various items of somewhat fine quality displayed neatly and cleanly.
The first item Aizen picked up was a new model of weights. Yes. Weights.
What he was wearing now was the thick old model and relied on heavy stones stuffed into it. Whereas the new model was magic leather, which weighs 50 kg in total. The leathers were still weighty. But at least it was not tight and felt pinched when worn.
"Are you sure you want to use that? Isn't the 40 kg one already heavy? And you just can't get used to it yet, right?" Ainkrad asked.
"It's fine. At least it's not tight when you put it on. Using this will make my sleep a bit comfortable." Aizen answered.
Kallias found the chat amusing. Not only did Aizen possess traces of spirit magic, but he also kept forging and training his physique for the chosen path of chivalry.
On the other hand, Kallias also wondered whether the spirit magic he sensed was known by Aizen or not. Because no one seemed to be aware besides him. Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted when Aizen tried to reach for the Spatial Ring.
"Wait. Why do you need that stuff?" Callias asked.
A Spatial Ring was a rare and expensive item. Although every year, Raven Academy would give it to two or three students who graduated from the school.
But, Aizen was still a new student who happened to be the model student in the first season.
"Why? Can't I borrow it?"
"No. That's not what the principal meant. You can borrow it. But at the very least, we need to know what it's used for. It's an item that will be given to the chosen student at the end of school. So, there needs to be a special reason if you want to borrow that one." This time, it was Ainkrad who answered Aizen's confusion.
Aizen fell into deep thought. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully and considered what he was going to do.
"I think I need to gain knowledge while traveling outside the empire. It will also act as a training experience for the Knight test. I'm sure it won't be bad because as my abilities increase, the chance of passing the test will increase as well."
"If it's training experience, you can get that here. Besides, the Aslan Empire is vast. There are lots of places you can go to get battle experience too."
"No. Student Barthomelo is right. Traveling outside the empire would be a great experience for him." Kallias interrupted Ainkrad's words.
"But that's dangerous, principal! He could have died during the adventure without developing further." Ainkrad expressed his worry.
Kallias certainly understood Ainkrad's words and knew full well that losing a talented and bright future student like Aizen would be painful for Raven Academy.
But at the same time, not allowing Aizen to venture outside his comfort zone would stunt his growth as well.
At the moment, there was no ideal solution for it. Kallias couldn't allow Ainkrad to accompany Aizen's adventures or authorize any of the staff and guards from Raven Academy to accompany Aizen either.
If he used that method, that wasn't much different from forbidding Aizen to go outside for experience.
"Even if I sound cruel, I will still say this. Let Student Barthomelo adventure alone and seek experience out there to forge himself into a true knight.
"Despite the high possibility of danger or death to come, it's all part of fate that lies in the path of that knight he chose."
Kallias said to Aizen in a low tone but filled with seriousness and affection. For him, a student like Aizen was a child worth nurturing. But, at the same time, he had to let nature determine Aizen's fate because that would be something that challenged everyone who decided to walk the arduous path of knights.
If, indeed, Aizen was destined to become a great knight like the way he felt when he saw the fight at the competition festival. Then no death or misfortune would approach or succeed in undermining Aizen's perseverance.
"You can bring the Spatial Ring as well as this remote location device." Kallias allowed Aizen to borrow a Spatial Ring, an item that could hold a lot of stuff without taking up space. Apart from that. He also gave Aizen a magic tool that was just as rare as the Spatial Ring. The magic item was called the Tracking Stone.
It was a blue obsidian stone material that was flattened into a rectangular shape with engraved magic runes on its surface. The item could provide Aizen's location, even though he was far away from Mada City.
"I'm giving you this item because your adventure time out there is only eight weeks. If it's more than that, I'll send a team to drag you home as soon as possible. Got that?!"
"Yes, principal," Aizen answered while bowing. That was plenty of time not to go to school and to visit the places he wanted to go.
He gathered the things he would need on the trip. Although he did intend to go on an ordinary trip to find someone, he had to prepare everything. So he wouldn't be careless when something unexpected happened.
Seeing what Aizen brought and put into his Spatial Ring made Kallias smile a little. He realized that Aizen had thorough preparations for his adventure, especially if the itinerary came on the spot.
On the side, Ainkrad could only let out a long sigh. He could only hope Aizen didn't die on the way. The Adventure into the outside world may be fantastic for a teenager, but it was a place full of abominations. However, he knew that it would serve as a meaningful and good experience in Aizen's growth in honing his skills and quick wits.
There was no teacher more efficacious than life experience.
"I don't know how he's going to make a trip where we don't even know his destination," Ainkrad said while looking at the back of Aizen, who left the room.
"No need to worry. We'll just leave him to a fate where it will lead him. That's better." Kallias said, reassuring Ainkrad.
"I know, principal. I also don't have the will to stop him since there doesn't seem to be anything else for me to teach. He's far too talented for a student's caliber."
"No. There's something you can teach that student besides fighting or the ways of the knight."
Hearing Kallias' words, Ainkrad straightened his languidly bowed body and perked his ears.
"The art of war."
"Huh!? Why is that?" Ainkrad asked, confused by what Kallias had said. About the only thing that he could teach to Aizen was the arts of war.
So far, knowledge of the art of war had only been taught in the military. Not in conventional or non-conventional schools.
"I heard from my friend that there is a rumor that the flow of weapons distribution increased sharply. From the Hadia Kingdom to the Asylum Empire in the number of hundreds of thousands of items," Kallias said with a gloomy face.
"Isn't that a natural thing? Maybe the Hadia Kingdom needs a new financial supply and is forced to sell their weapons to the Asylum Empire."
"I don't think so. That friend of mine investigates further because those rumors are too suspicious for a massive nation like the Asylum Empire. And he witnessed that the weapons purchased weren't items from the Hadia Kingdom but an arms dealer whose name is unknown."
"Which arms dealer can provide hundreds of thousands of weapons?" Ainkrad flabbergasted, asked with his eyes wide open.
