Trying hard

Lili wasn't that surprised when her stomach rumbled and woke her up. She was so hungry she would eat as much as Chao would.

But that imbecile decided she needed to lose weight. As if she could. When he saw her in a shower.

Yes. That creep was watching Lili showering. And she wasn't more disgusted in her life than by him. Thankfully, she anticipated and decided to leave her shirt on. It was long enough to cover her and she would wash it a bit. Later, when she was back in the bed, Lili had taken it down and let it somewhat dry on the bed railings.

But later, when Adam came, he grabbed her by her chin and stared at her face, assessing her or something.

"You really got fat. You should be on a diet," he said and placed a bowl of rice in front of her, together with a glass of water.

Lili stared at him with disbelief in her eyes and then swallowed everything she wanted to say to him. Except for one thing.

"Oh, yes, my master!" she said, meaning it with sarcasm, but it was as if he completely missed it and looked even pleased.

"Yes, you should call me that. Wait, I have a gift for you because you are so obedient," Lili's eyes opened wide, and she was excited. He placed a leash on the choker she made. The front ring was perfect for hooking that, and Lili had cursed herself for making such a quality product that wouldn't rip even though he led her like a dog by the leash.

He led her out of the room. They went through the hallway where he took her shower and to the toilet and then walked up the stairs. Just to emerge at the entrance by a cottage, on a meadow in the woods.

There were three houses on the meadow, all surrounded by a fence and trees. They were all the same style of an old renovated barn.

"This is all yours?" she asked, curious why he would take her out if he had a neighbor, but Adam nodded.

"Isn't it awesome? No one will find us here…" he led her out of the house. Lili was thankful she was used to walking around barefoot in summer, otherwise, her feet would really hurt.

"How long do you plan to make me stay?" Lili asked carefully. Adam frowned at her, not getting the question.

"Forever. You are mine. Of course, you will be here with me forever," he answered as if it was the most obvious thing ever. But Lili frowned. She wanted him to think about what he had done for a while.

"You said you were fired from the hospital… How will we have money for food? Electricity? What if something happens to me? You won't have tools, meds, anything to make me feel better." He was frowning more and more. Before he struck her with his fist hard over her face.

"You worthless, ungrateful bitch!" he shouted and jerked her forward by her leash. Adam grabbed her lower jaw and pressed it so hard tears welled inside Lili's eyes.

"You haven't served me and you want me to do something for you?" He let her face go and punched her in the belly. It was such a pain that Lili kneeled before him, short of breath, crying.

And she started shaking really badly when she remembered there was Lei's and her child inside her. She really hoped it would be strong enough to survive this. But deep inside, she doubted it because of her medical knowledge.

He dragged her into another building, more like a shed, not the one she was in before, and if Lili didn't want to be without skin, she had to get up and follow him.

'That was why you should never aggravate someone who abducted you.' She thought for herself now, finally getting where all the advice came from.

"See those pigs? See them?" he shouted, smashing her to the fence that held the pigs back. Lili sobbed but nodded before he was even angrier.

"Behave if you don't want to end up as their food!" she shouted and dragged her away. Back to her room in the cellar. There, he threw her on the bed and left.

Lili's face was hurting so much. Her belly was maybe even worse and her knee was already getting purple. It was a bad idea to make him reason about the consequences. She would never try it again.

Lili curled up in a ball in the middle of the bed. She had nowhere to hide. He couldn't even go to the corner because her leg was shackled to the bed.

She wanted to cry, but knew she shouldn't. It would infuriate him even more. Lili took a deep breath. Now the only thing she needed was to survive herself. Survive so she could be rescued.

The door opened again and Adam came in with a bowl of water and a rug. He set it aside and sat on Lili's bed. She was alert and sitting as soon as he came in. Adam looked at her face and caressed her hair.

"I'm so sorry I struck you. I love you so much and just the thought of you not liking it here with me has infuriated me," he said and hugged her. Lili wasn't resisting; she let him touch her.

That was the safest way to survive.

Adam kept hugging her and then he took the clean rug and put the cold water on her face, knees, and then leg, so it wouldn't hurt so much. He got up and assessed his work when he noticed something.

"Oh, you got your period. I thought of it. I don't want you dirty," he said and left. But Lili was sure it wasn't her period. She was bleeding. Lili doubted he would get her to the hospital.

Adam came back and threw pads at her. His demeanor changed completely again. He looked pissed again.

But Lili didn't care. She was dying inside. She was losing her and Lei's child and she could do nothing with it.
