[I think this would be the best time to examine that box]

"You think?" Levi replied sarcastically.

He took the Alchemist box out his inventory and began examining it

He noticed a few symbols inscribed on it

'What are these?' he wondered.

He recalled one of the few skills that came with his shitty class was inspect.

Levi wondered what was the use of an inspect skill when he already had the player Appraisal function.

'maybe it'll give me more information' he reasoned

"INSPECT"

_____

Item name: Alchemist box (pocket version)

Grade: Epic

Info: A box that was created by the first group of master alchemists, it was considered a failed item since their aim was to create a philosopher stone. They couldn't live with their failure but the box was indestructible so they did the only logical thing they could do, seal it and then kill themselves.

Condition required to use-: Decipher the rune.

Method of use-: put the two beasts you intend to merge inside the box

–––––

"How could sealing it and ending their lives be the only solution?!... Now where do I start if the creators are dead?" Levi sighed in frustration.

[Those are runes written in an ancient text, to decipher the runes a player would have to find a quest that offers you the exact translation of this runic text as a reward]

Levi's stomach churned. Paddin was indeed a con man.

"How would a player find a quest that matches this box in all of Aetheria? It's like searching for a needle in a haystack." He sobbed

[Yes for normal players it would seem impossible but you forget you have something special]

Levi's mood brightened up as he heard blue "If that something special is you, then I guess you know how to find the quest?"

[Of course, I can do that, but wouldn't you prefer I just decipher the text myself?]

"You can do that!? That's amazing Blue…" Levi excitedly said.

[I know I am, translating ruins like this is an easy task]

"What's got you so excited?" Darcy asked as she returned.

"It's nothing, I was just glad that I have you helping me out" Levi replied

This made her blush slightly.

"I'm sorry that I can't be of more help. Most of the equipment I have are all above your level, except this few" she said as she handed him the gear

As Levi appraised the items he couldn't help but feel thankful to Darcy. After losing his money he was still able to get such good weapons, all thanks to her

"This is already good enough Darcy, thank you I don't know what I would have done without you" Levi admitted

"No-no need to thank me, I'm just glad that we get to spend more time together" she replied with a blush.

"Equip" Levi called out

The items materialized on his body, he could feel a slight increase in weight.

"Let's go test them out," Darcy suggested.

Just what he needed, an opportunity to test out himself.

They left the village and went into the wilderness Levi had earlier spawned in. Then Darcy brought out a potion and threw it on the ground causing it to break.

They waited silently for a while.

"Are we waiting for new players?"Levi whispered

She let out a slight laugh. "Of course not, only Anti-players would do that. That potion is supposed to attract the wild dogs"

"Are Anti-players strong?" Levi inquired

"Some are, but they aren't added to the player ranking. They level up doing negative quests and they do not follow the laws of the land" Darcy explained

"That's why they are ranked by bounty, they are all wanted criminals so you shouldn't even think of joining them if not I wouldn't forgive you" she added sternly

"I wouldn't even dream of doing that" Levi replied

He had no plans to make the villagers his enemy and put the NPCs through what the players subjected him to. In fact this new insight only further fueled his hatred for the players.

He heard the grass shuffle as three black dogs emerged from it.

Levi smiled as he firmed his grip on the battle axe.

"They're here. You attack, and I'll support you," Darcy said as she loaded an arrow into her bow.
