Ace pov

I unknowingly clenched my jaws when I saw her bruised forearm.

‘How the fuck it happened? Did they do it?’ I asked her. She removed my hand and rubbed her body under the shower quickly.

‘Laura,’ I called her but she turned off the shower and replied, ‘no, I was walking slow. So, Pasquale had to drag me. It’s okay.’

‘He did what?’ I asked in disbelief.

‘He had no option. I said I was too slow and the police were on their way. I am fine.’ She said.

‘Took you long enough to reply. And for the record, I don't give a damn about police... Why? Are you trying to protect him for any reason?’ I asked again. She thought she convinced me about the last time when she asked me to remove Pasquale from mansion duty. Well, I am not. I am just finding out more about him and some other new guards.

‘I was thinking about lying but your men would check the cameras and you would find out anyway.’ She replied.
