--- Chapter 1 --

[Prolog]

In a beautiful garden inside of a hidden mountain range, An elderly with decayed white hair sat on a rock and looked at the starry night with a calm expression on his face.

"I miss some anime for some reason." He suddenly said with a sigh.

He once died when walking on the side's road and reincarnated to this martial world. Even though he doesn't appear to be exceptionally talented, he still got to the top with the help of accident and opportunity.

"Heavenly Demon." He quietly said the rank he achieved after living in this world for one hundred years, which was long for some people, but short for a cultivator.

Cough!

He suddenly coughed blood and frowned a little because his body seems to deteriorate more and more after fighting with the orthodox faction.

"This wound is getting worse in each second." He silently commented while looking at his chest, which had a few black holes filled with mysterious corrosive ki.

"Lord." A middle-aged man in a black adorned robe soundlessly entered the garden.

"How was it, the cult?" He shifted his gaze to the middle-aged man, who is his secretary and loyal right hand.

"We lost..." The secretary answered with a solemn expression.

"I see, we lost..." He responded with a bitter sigh.

"To think, the heavenly demon cult would fall when I'm the leader. I am a failure, huh." He continued while looking back at the starry night skies.

"That is not right! Lord. If you didn't become the cult's leader seventy years ago, we wouldn't be able to survive until now." The secretary reacted with a worried expression.

"Is that so..." He quietly replied to his secretary with a slight smile on his face.

"I can't live any longer than this, huh. What a shame." He continued, making the secretary stared at him with a horrified expression.

"Lord, your wounds...!" The secretary silently looked at his chest.

He only laughed and shook his head a little, indicating that he's okay. "You don't have to worry about it." He said.

"Even though my life isn't perfect, it's still enjoyable. Well, It was a little boring." He said while closing his eyes.

"Lord..." The secretary gritted his teeth in sorrow and looked at the lifeless body in front of him.

He firmly kneeled in front of his lord's corpse and said, "The sixtieth heavenly demon, Yeop Jin-Sang, has fallen in honor!"

That day, the unorthodox group, Heavenly Demon's Cult, goes on a full-scale war against the orthodox faction to honor their leader's death.

[Unknown Realm]

-1st Pov

I opened my eyes and looked around but found nothing except for an empty white space, which made me uncomfortable.

'Where am I? I should've died, right?' I thought while observing my body condition, which I don't have because he's only a floating gray light ball.

'What happened to me?' I wonder with my nonexistent frown, but a sudden flash abruptly swallowed me into the void.

The void led me through to space cracks and transferred my soul to another realm, which I was not prepared for because when I arrived there, beautiful starry skies greeted me.

The starry skies are full of bright lights, and every one of them emanates an intense pressure that makes my soul tremble, yet it makes me excited for some reason.

I observed the stars for a moment and decided to grasp them with my nonexistent hands, and a throbbing sensation was immediately spreading through my soul.

'I'm not strong enough?' I thought while feeling being sucked again by the void, which led me to different realms or worlds this time.

My vision immediately became dark when I arrived in this realm, but I somehow feel a faint familiarity with the area around me.

'Cold...' I gradually opened my eyes with slight fuzziness in my head and saw a bunch of snowflakes fall from the skies.

When I observed the skies, a gasp suddenly appeared out of nowhere. "Oh my! Who put a baby in here...?!" The voice of a startled woman entered my ears, which made me slightly frown.

She approached me in a hurry and immediately put me in her embrace, which surprisingly felt warm and comfortable. "What a poor child." She quietly muttered.

-3rd Pov

The woman had long flowing black hair with a fair complexion and combined with her gentle expression. She looks like a gorgeous woman who's still maintained her purity and seemed to be in her mid-twenty.

Her name is Watase Shizuka, and she's a shrine maiden who watches her family tradition for almost twenty years.

She embraced a baby in her arms, who surprisingly didn't cry even after staying in a cold winter forest for a few hours.

"You are a strong child, but I wonder why your parents abandoned you here," Shizuka said with a sad yet angry expression.

"Since I can't let you stay in here, I'll bring you to my home." She continued while forming a gentle smile on her face, putting the baby in confusion.

'I get reincarnated?' The baby thought while looking at the woman who embraces him.

"Aoba, your name from now on is Watase Aoba," Shizuka quietly whispered while walking toward a high-stairs, which will lead them to a small shrine with a nice-looking cottage on the side.

They entered the cottage, and Shizuka immediately put her in a warm bed as she went away for a moment, searching for a few things.

'I unquestionably get reincarnated again, huh.' The baby looked at the ceiling with complicated feelings.

''I feel so sleepy... Let's think about it later.' He thought while closing his eyes.

Even though he cannot fully trust the woman who saved him, he can still perceive that she doesn't have any ill intent toward him.

Shizuka went back to her bedroom and noticed that the baby she brought has fallen asleep with a calm expression on his cute baby face.

She weakly shook her head and approached the baby. "Even though I don't have a husband or a single child, I want to raise you as my son for some reason." She said with soft giggles.
