Secretive 4

I arrived in front of the school and walked inside. The school was unusually dry with no students lurking around.

"What's going on? Did I come a little too early?" I muttered to myself.

Suddenly, Nate ran to me and grasped my hand, pulling me with him

"What is wrong? Where are you taking me?" I inquired,

"Haven't you heard? The headteacher is making an announcement that will change the structure of the school." He stated.

"What does that mean?" I asked running with him.

We arrived in the hall. It turns out all the students were here, except for some latecomers like Mason. I sighted Xavier and he winked at me. Tomorrow is the day I give him my answer.

Nate pulled me and we both settled down on the third roll, staring at the teacher.

"Good morning students. I want to inform all of you that we have made some adjustments to this university and launched our very own hostel." The headteacher beamed, and all the students started applauding.

What the heck a hostel? This is not good.

I raised my hand.

"Yes, that girl." The headteacher stated, pointing at him. I got up from my seat and bowed slightly."

"Is it compulsory to live in the hostel?" I asked bluntly.

"Thank you for asking. It is compulsory. If you are afraid of the money you will be paying, trust me, it's not that much." He assured.

Nate looked at me.

"That means we won't be able to go home to our parents anymore." He stated.

Why do they have to do it now? They don't. They just do it when I have already graduated. I will have to leave the hostel with a lot of strangers who I don't know.

"I don't like the idea." I muttered.

"It's a good thing maybe students have been demanding a hostel because they live far away from this university." Nate stated.

"I understand. Why don't they just do it for only those students? Why do we have to be involved?" I asked, wrinkling my nose.

"That's because it will look unfair to us. Why are you talking like this? I think you like your parents too much." He replied.

"That's not it. I don't want to be bullied." I mumbled.

"You won't be bullied, girls. Don't bully girls." He assured me I thought he was wrong because girls had always been among the students bullying me with Mason.

"That's all students. Have a nice day. See the science teacher for the renting of rooms." The headteacher stated.

"Okay." The students chorused.

"Worst announcement ever" I muttered and held tightly to the string of my bag as I started walking out of the hall, ignoring Nate.

"Hey Amber, wait up!!" He yelled running after me. I halted and gave him a weak smile.

"Let's go to class." He stated, putting his hand around my shoulder. I was about to walk when Xavier stood in front of us and handed me a smoothie.
