Nightwalker ~when the devil sings

He loathed her. So much so that he was numb from the hatred. He wouldn't kill her~maybe not yet. She glared at him from where she sat on the bed. "Glare all you want since that's what you would be doing from this moment on". "What do you want?" "I will be the musician and you'd be the dancer. Whatever song I sing, you must dance to it. I don't need your will, you just have to obey me". He was the devil himself and this time, she has to be a dancer for him.

Thirty-two. Get the doctor

Thirty-two. Get the doctor

Monalissa arrived at the factory the next day with Louis after a hectic night at Alpha gardens. They arrived at the dawn. She was worn out but this time she wasn't exempted from work. Mr Andrews got words from the higher-ups not to let her rest. She entered her room with shaky legs and couldn't help it when exhaustion hit her, getting her to sprawl on the bed.

It was at seven that morning that she later woke up, which was thanks to Hanabi's arrival at her room. As she dressed up, Hanabi engaged her in a discussion about the previous night.

"You know what Mona?"

"Yes?"

"I think I have to confess something", Hanabi said gripping her arms together.

Monalissa looked at her. "What's that?"

"I overheard your discussion with Luke the other night".

Monalissa arched her brows with her lips formed in an 'O' shape.

"You did?", she asked after making that reaction.

"Yeah. He never said that to me. I have asked him about it though".

"He must not have felt comfortable to say it at that time", Monalissa said

"I think so too. He must have been doubting himself even", Hanabi concurred.

Monalissa sighed as she picked up the comb there to style her hair.

"I...used to work at Alpha gardens", Hanabi suddenly said.

Monalissa cast her a glance. "You were?"

"Yeah. But, I happened to cause trouble for the Boss's mistress at that time".

Monalissa was already done with the styling when Hanabi said this part. "His mistress?"

"Yeah. What was her name again...?", se asked rhetorically as she sucked in a light breath.

"Her name was Kayla. I called her the witch of the gardens".

Monalissa couldn't be more surprised at what Hanabi had said. She knew that that woman she had met on that day was trouble. She scoffed when she remembered her attitude that day at the lobby leading to Ezekiel's room.

After she was done dressing, the two girls left the room for their breakfast at the cafeteria.

It was porridge as usual and milk to accompany it. There was a banana finger for their dessert. Monalissa had gotten used to whatever Ezekiel laid before her since she began staying here.

The two girls parted ways to sit on their respective table. Monalissa looked at the food and sighed. The devil was so cruel to everyone who messed with him. She suddenly remembered the meatballs and chicken with beef soups she usually had at Winter walls. The memories made her eyes shimmer with tears but she held them back. She swore to work harder so that she would find out the one who put her into this shit.

Monalissa had just eaten her fourth spoon when she suddenly felt uncomfortable in her belly. She drank a mouth full of water to calm it down. The pain seemed to ease a little so she continued eating. She had taken three more spoons after that when she started coughing. The girl who was beside her noticed Monalissa's discomfort.

"What's wrong?", the girl asked

Monalissa looked at her but couldn't even speak. The pain was too unbearable. Beads of sweat gathered on her forehead and her face turned pale. Her mouth was already pale purple in color. She was coughing profusely and suddenly began to throw up blood.

Hanabi and Luke were the first to rush to her side including the girl that was sitting next to her.

"Get the doctor! Call an ambulance!" Luke screamed at the top of his voice. The girl that was beside her ran off to get the administrator and the Mr Andrews. The whole cafeteria was in an uproar. At some corner, a girl sat watching the whole scene as her hands shook under the table.
