Desire

The alarm went off, vibrating and ringing loudly. It is currently [6 AM] which actually gives Garen an ample amount of time to prepare for his classes. The school provided uniforms with 'accesories' that could identify them as an alpha, beta or omega. A collar to protect you from getting bitten or a bracelet that has detector function that injects medicine if it ever detects rut or heat about to happen to the owner's body. Garen obviously chose the bracelet and so did everyone he saw and passed by as he go to the cafeteria. He got his food by [6:15] and finished it at [6:30]. He went straight to his class and only saw a few number to be present. It was [6:45] so, it was no wonder to see the class only filled by about nine students.

He imediately noticed the students exchanging whispers not because of his entrance but, because of the girl on the front seat near the window.

"A collar... in this day?..." He heard from one of the girls.

Garen gazed to the subject of the whispers and saw a lose hair hiding her nape yet, if one earnestly looked to another side, they could easily see the collar worn by the girl. Garen accidentally locked eyes as he was gazing the girl and there, he noticed her beautiful blue eyes.

"What?" The girl asked in an irritated and indifferent tone.

There was no mistaking it. This girl who holds a pair of beautiful blue eyes that mirrors the hue of the clear, blue sky... And her voice was that of a strong-willed person.

"Liliane Fray?..." His voice was trembling as he spoke out that name.

The girl simply gazed with a indifferent manner, irritation lost, but that doesn't make it any better. The girl no longer responded this time and that left the boy in a heartbreak.

A stinging pain wrapped Garen's heart as he received answer from the very girl he longed to meet all this time. He is so sure that it was Liliane and that is what makes it even more painful. Liliane doesn't even show hate that he supposedly expected to gladly accept and repent upon. Liliane doesn't want to do anything with him, anymore. The both of them are nothing but mere strangers.

How selfish of him to repeatedly pray and wish at that moment for any drop of hate to land on Liliane's heart. How he begged so badly to the heavens for little buds of enmity to grow when Liliane took glance of the boy who wronged her so much. It was better that Liliane would hate him but, how dare he wish for that.

"I'm sorry..." Garen said.

Perhaps, he was hoping for retaliation from Liliane. He certainly did not have any right to even apologize, and he wished to hear Liliane say that. He desperately wished to receive at least any sort of reply from Liliane but, Liliane did not indulge him to his desires. Liliane simply ignored him.

It was finally [7 AM] and the bell rings to remind all students to proceed to their own classes. Alas, Garen was left with no choice but to sit down as class is also starting. The teacher entered the room with the very same bracelet as everyone else. The day started by self introduction.

"I am Sir Havier Diaz. I am an Omega." The man introduced himself.

It wasn quite surprising to see an Omega as a teacher. They have always been looked down upon among the three class. Half of the Alpha students were quite stunned and so was Garen.

"You might be surprised. As you know, the System aims to a more balance living within the verse society. Some might be born between two alphas, some are from both omegas, there are times when an alpha or an omega are born from both betas. There are also betas that manifests later to an alpha or an omega."

"These accessories that we wear is not simply an ID for our identity. Not also a mere medicine carrier. It keep tracks of your pulse and monitor your state. You must always wear it at times that you are outside of your rooms. This is extremely important as majority of you all are newly manifested. If it senses any ill-intended or pheromones that intents to harm, tranquilizers will automatically be injected. Wearing these are mandatory. Anyone who are caught not wearing these shall be sent to detention." Sir Havier explained.

"Any more questions?" He asked.

A student from the back raises his hand and asked.

"Sir, are we not going to have a school assembly?"

"As majority of you all are newly manifested, long exposure to a crowd with mixed pheromones can be quite stimulating. Only Third years are to have mandatory morning assemblies." Havier answered.

Garen raised his hand too and he waited for Havier to call on him, unlike the previous student.

"What's with the mate-pairing in the system?" He asked and his pupil glowed gold for a second.

Of course, he saw the notification on his phone that was sent by the system earlier that morning. He was preparing himself mentally to look for Liliane Fray, his mate but, he didn't actually have the courage to face her yet, fate is extremely unexpecting. He never imagined to be just dreaming about her and seeing her on that very morning.

To be fair, he always dreamt of Liliane. If Liliane does not appear on his dream, he'd seek for her shadows may it give him nightmares. Liliane is always in his mind. He craves for any traces, any sort of connection to the girl, even a tiny speck, even if it was by any form. He is already room-mates with her, her paired-mate, but now, also her classmate. That was his only joy after being utterly rejected.

"The pairings are decided mostly by compability. Some has a paired-mate assigned by the system which can be nullified by the parties after the school year. Some may not have a pair as the system have yet found anyone compatible." Havier answered.

They are compatible. That's all that mattered for Garen. With meeting her again, getting the honor to be her room mate and classmate, undeservingly even the honor to be her mate. He became hopeful and more deeply drived to redeem himself and be worthy of her attention.

Just as he was thinking of these things, his eyes became clear and pure as honey-gold. With satisfactory, he sat back down to his sit.

After Garen, there followed more questions regarding their stay in the school and their soon to be lifestyle. Sir Havier was patient with answering all questions. After the questionning, it was time for self introduction. Sir Havier instructed to tell of all the important facts about themselves.

"Starting of with the girl on the front, near the window-side and it will be continue till it reaches the end." Havier says.

Liliane stood up and faced everyone, not wavered to see her classmated stunned to see her wear a collar in stead of a bracelet.

"I am Liliane Fray, 16 years old. I am an Omega and I have a mate, Garen Rine." She says as she glance towards Garen's direction.

It was quite confusing and shocking for the boy who she strongly ignored earlier yet, she glances to that very boy when she says that she has a mate. Garen didn't care if what she was plotting if there are any. He is a simple fool and he'd gladly take everything that Liliane throws at his way. Liliane may not feel the same way but, He loves Liliane this much. Reciprocated or not, he loves Liliane.
