I want to live

Ren was out of breath; his lunge was burning trying hard to grasp whatever little oxygen they can get, the desperation crawling in from the back of his mind, and at the same time the unwillingly of going back.

Looking at his hand for the sword he found it a little away, forced himself to incorporate and grip the sword, a sense of urgency assaults his mind, looking in all direction hi saw his companion being slay by the hideous monster, the desperation was back, he took stance and prepare for the charge of the monster, sidestepping in the las moment and beheading it with al flawless movement.

Looking at his surrounding it was complete encircle, the monster looking at his eyes.

"I will not go back without a fight", he scream.

The monster run to him with frenzy and bloodlust that make people had shaking chills, but Ren was a veteran warrior, in the face of such an enemy he advances and go for the first strike, killing the beast with a swift thrust to the heart, but there were countless other enemies and he get bite in the ankles and in the hip, making him lost his stance and then being devoured.

Everything turn black, a burning sensation going through all of his body and then it changes to be frozen, electricity, poison, his mind suffers the torture of a thousand pains for what feel one eternity, until he heard the voice.

"Do you want to give up", he hears from the light?.

"Not yet", Ren said.

"So you are not broken yet", the darkness said.

"Close but not this time", Ren said.

"I like your stubbornness my little hero, so tell me what will you exchange the dark essence for", the darkness said.

"I was close this time, the demon general has this powerful attack that knocks me off balance, so I want to improve my constitution".

"With the amount of dark essence you have it is possible, anything else, you have a good amount of essence, give me a small part of that does not make you any harm".

"I work very hard to collect that essence and will not give it away", Ren said with an angry face, the shameless of the darkness always get him into madness, "moreover I think finally get to the goal of monster to kill".

"Correct, you have make a great effort to defeat the evilness and the rewards will be arranging for your next iteration", the light said.

The face of Ren stiffened when he hears this, after a minute he said, "I am ready, the next time I will end this madness"

Then he gets back to the same day he has been living, the day of the ancient covenant, the day that never end.

And like every other time he gets through the day fighting wave after wave of monster, collecting dark essence of the killed, and trying hard to achieve the goals of the light for new rewards.

"Ralf what do you think you are doing, this is the third time monster of your side get through your guard", said Ren to one of his party member.

"I don't want to keep fighting Ren, it's pointless, they always surpass us, the sensation of my flesh being chewed over and over again it's too much", Ralf said his face being as grim as the night.

"After all the iteration we have fight, after all the progress we have make" yelled Ren, "why are you given up now, we are so close to the victory, now we finally see the demon general, after we defeat that monster we will be free".

Ralf look to Ren, he inspects his eyes and after a sigh he said "I don't know from where comes your positivism Ren, since the start to here we have fight tens of millions, who knows maybe billions of times, have you see the amount of people that is left, I don't really think it is possible the finish this trial of the heavens…".

Ren interrupt his word "it is no trial of nothing, the scientist plays with theorist and energies that was way beyond their capabilities, if it was not from the goddess we have been long dead".

"We ARE dead Ren, this is the hell, and there is no way that these flashy thing being goddess, all that they do is to send us to die over and over again, I'm done Ren, I can't keep this, it has been enough to me" Ralf said, and without waiting to Ren to answer he charge to the enemy, this action cause great distraught in Ren mind, and quickly after fall to the monster.

After that iteration he search for Ralf but can't find he anywhere, "he really gave up".

The iteration after that get more and more difficult after more people gave up until it was just Ren, but despise that he keeps fighting. Every iteration he loose a bit of herself, every time losing a tiny bit of his mind sanity, until all was left was a war machine, as the enemy doesn't care about their injury neither does Ren and bits by bits, he finally slays the demon general.

"Congratulation, I know you have the capabilities to slay that demon and restore the equilibrium" the light said, "now as for your reward I can offer you the possibilities of start again without your power, in a normal word and to live the life that was take away from you".

"Or you can be more funny and join the wars in the celestial land, whit your actual attribute and mastery you will be a key part of any army you want, and with the determination you have shown in this lands, you will be top notch in no time" said the darkness.

"Why are your rewards so short this time?".

"Because this amazing feat you have accomplish, was promise in the ancient covenant that all living soul in this world firm before it was too late" the light said.

"But do no despair, you have a really good reward that very few being can talk about" the darkness said.

"And what is that", Ren said

"The covenant is a contract whit us, and that mean you have a connection whit us" the darkness said.

"And what are the benefit of that?", Ren said.

But just silence was the answer, with a sigh he straight himself and said.

"I want to live a normal life".
