Chapter 169: Battle of the scientists

The two scientists turned warriors circled each other, assessing and analyzing their opponent's moves. the standoff between Dr. Kozaky and Ashley Lynn stretched on. The audience grew restless. The crowd exchanged puzzled glances and murmurs. For a whole 5 minutes, there was no action at all.

The announcer scratched his head, "Uh, I did say go, right?" he said, looking to his fellow tournament staff for confirmation. "I'm not sure why they're not fighting yet..."

Wendy and the rest of the group saw the bizarre scenario from their vantage point. Misty leaned over towards Wendy and whispered, "Do you think they're scheming something?"

Wendy frowned slightly, looking at the two. "It could be," she said under her breath. "They're both really smart. They could be just waiting and biding their time for the right moment."

Beyond in the arena, Dr. Kozaky and Ashley Lynn continued to circle, neither one willing to commit to being the first to make their move.
