Naruto: The Wandering Blacksmith

Ryu lives with his father, Haru, in a small village in the land of water where he helps his father with their blacksmithing business. However, the father and son pair are not as they seem. When Shinobi appear on their doorsteps looking to kill them, Ryu is forced to venture into the harsh world of Shinobi with only the Transformation Jutsu that his father taught him for blacksmithing. Watch Ryu as he hones his skill and becomes a legend the likes of which have never been seen in the multiverse. (By the way, the tag says OP for a reason, Ryu will end up so broken. Like OAA level. And there won't be any cheats, Ryu will discover the multiverse and explore it all with his own power. If you're wondering how such heresy is possible, especially in a Naruto fic, go read the fanfic. Honestly, I made it my personal mission to torment all the power scalers that will read this.) I don't own the image, I can barely write my name in an understandable way much less draw something like that, so if the original artist (TorinoGT from what I found on Wallpaper Abyss) wants it taken down message me. I also don't own Naruto, but I think that's obvious. I mean, if I did own it, I sure as hell wouldn't write fanfictions about it... I'd also be rich :-( One last thing, as of writing this, I'm on what's called in my country "Year of Service" where we go volunteer for a year around the country before going to the military. The workdays are 13~ hours and I live with like 7 other people in a tiny apartment so that's fun. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that my upload schedule will be awful and one chapter a week will be lucky, so be warned.

Chapter 66 - Thor, the broken god

"Hahahaha! I didn't know making stuff like that was possible," Brok laughed. "Y-you made something strong enough to easily harm the World Tree, do you even realize what a monstrosity like this means?" Sindri asked.

"...That it's powerful?" Ryu shrugged. "𝐓𝐨𝐨 powerful. The combination of your Chakra and our techniques created something that shouldn't have been made. If something like this falls into the wrong hands... Not to mention it's a ranged weapon. It's like having a bow that'll be able to kill anyone instantly!" Sindri exclaimed.

"Yeah, but it has the failsafe, remember? If you don't have Chakra, it'll only be a very bright flashlight." Ryu replied. "...I guess so. Just be careful with it. Use it against Odin and his army at Ragnarok, but before that, you should probably keep it hidden," Sindri said. "I won't hide it, it will be part of my Shinobi's outfit, but I'll make sure they won't use it if it'll make you feel better," Ryu said, receiving an appreciative nod from Sindri.

"Oh, speaking of powerful weapons, you two made Mjolnir, right?" Ryu asked. He saw glimpses of it in their memories, but he didn't process it all yet. "Yeah, too bad it's wielded by a stupid boar," Brok sighed. "You know he's like that from how Odin hurt him, right?" Ryu said. "And so are we all, that's no excuse. That idiot's body is strong, but his mind is weaker than a sheet of paper," Brok scoffed.

"So why don't we do something about it? I can talk to Thor, maybe make him realize how toxic his relationship with Odin is," Ryu suggested. "And how do you plan to do that? You can't just walk into Asguard and talk to him," Sindri stated. "Who said I need to? Alright, I'll go out for a bit. I'll come back when I injected some sense into that idiot," Ryu smirked as he transformed reality to make himself appear at a large clearing in Midgard.

With another snap of his fingers, a very confused Thor appeared in front of him.

"I hope I didn't interrupt anything," Ryu chuckled at Thor's expression as the latter snapped his fingers to call Mjolnir. "If you wanted your hammer, you should've just asked," Ryu said as he made the hammer appear near Thor. As Thor caught the hammer, he immediately lunged at Ryu. But just as Mjolnir was about to reach Ryu, a hand appeared and stopped it.

Ryu was very curious about the gods and their divinity, but he didn't want to experiment on himself to find out if he can hold divinity. Luckily, he didn't need to, as he had his Shinobi. Just now Ryu injected Thor's divinity into his Shinobi amalgamation, and the result was...

"What the hell is that?" Thor raised an eyebrow as he looked at the Shinobi whose body was constantly being broken and healed by the divinity trying to adapt to his body. "Oh, shit," Ryu said as he undid the transformation, dispelling the Shinobi. "But if you attack me again I'll have to defend myself with more of those, so please just listen..." Ryu said awkwardly.

"Did you just threaten me with creating some poor abominations?" Thor raised an eyebrow. "..." Ryu averted his gaze, and Thor burst out laughing. "You are one psychotic kid. Fine, talk," Thor said as he returned Mjolnir to his belt.

"Though if you're trying to tell me some stupid tale about my father, don't bother. I've made my peace with him. He might not be a perfect father, but he's what I got," Thor warned, causing Ryu to get mad.

"Why don't you see how toxic your relationship with Odin is? Just a day ago he insulted your dead sons with no remorse!" Ryu talked angrily.

"He was right. My sons weren't helpful," Thor said in a casual tone. "Why do you care about it!? Thrud did less than them, she was less helpful to Odin. If she was the one who died, would you have still said that?!" Ryu yelled as he saw Thor's eyes twitch.

"Don't bring her up, she has great potential," Thor spoke. "So did Modi and Magni! You just didn't care enough to see it. No, you convinced yourself they were worthless so that you'd be able to beat them with no remorse." Ryu spoke with disappointment overflowing from his voice.

"You deny it, but the reason you care for Thrud so much is because of the pain you felt when losing Modi and Magni. Only after losing them did you realize where you went wrong, Yet look at how Odin is disrespecting your sons that only wished to gain your acknowledgment, the sons whose death is on both 𝐲𝐨𝐮 and 𝐎𝐝𝐢𝐧!" Ryu drilled into Thor.

"What do you know? You just arrived yesterday, but you dare to patronize me?" Thor spoke with rage overflowing from his voice. "Oh, but that's where you're wrong. I do know the situation because I've experienced your memories. That's why I know that although you try to ignore it in whatever way you can, you agree with what I'm saying." Ryu took a deep breath.

"But you know what's the worst part? I felt your emotions. Hell, I still feel them. I can suppress them. It's not too hard, I got used to it, but it's times like this when they just burst out. So you're going to sit still and I'm going to be the 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 that shows you how pathetic you look! And how it's Odin's fault!" Ryu spoke as his mere gaze seemed to weigh Thor down.

Thor wanted to escape, but something was keeping him to the ground. Ryu was inside Thor's mind, so he knew exactly what to say to push Thor's buttons. Ryu wasn't the one keeping Thor on the ground. It was the red-haired god's mind that didn't allow him to move.

"Let's continue. Do you know why Odin wanted to visit? Of course you do. After all, he lectured you about it so proudly. What was it again? To bring the murderer of Modi into your own house. Sure, his death is on you, but Atreus is still the one who did the dead. Quite the father," Ryu scoffed.

"You've become so obsessed with obeying that master manipulator that you drown your own problems at the bottom of a bottle instead of trying to sort them out for your remaining wife and daughter. 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨𝐨?" Ryu continued his rant.

"I'm an unforgivable piece of shit, I know that, but Odin has a plan for to betterment of Asguard. Thrud and Sif will benefit from it" Thor said weakly. "Does he? Does he really? You know him, you know that all he wants is answers to where gods go when they die, or what your place in the universe is. Do you think it's for the betterment of Asguard?" Ryu stopped talking as he thought for a bit.

"You know what? I'll do you one better. I can go to Odin right now and answer his questions. I can find out easily where you go when you die or what purpose you serve. I can do that right now, and you say that he'll use that purely for the betterment of Asguard. Do you want to take that bet with me? Do you truly believe that man cares only for Asguard?" Ryu asked.

Thor wanted to answer, he wanted to yell out that he'd agree, but something happened. Doubt began to form in Thor's heart, and he began to second-guess himself. He couldn't agree to the bet. He was afraid of the result.

"That's what I thought. Now, sit tight. We've got a full night ahead of us," Ryu spoke as he conjured himself a chair.

The night was long, and so was Ryu's speech. Ryu had both Odin's and Thor's memories, so whenever Thor told a story that portrayed Odin in a good light, Ryu simply looked for the same story in Odin's memory to reveal Odin's hidden motive. Over the night Ryu revealed more and more of the ugly truth to Thor, but that wasn't the finishing blow.

Ryu brought back Modi and Magni's souls by transforming reality. After the two parties got over the initial shock, Ryu explained the situation. It took some effort on Ryu's part, but eventually, Modi and Magni began to confess their true feelings and how Thor's abusive actions affected them. They were already dead, there was no need to keep up the bravado. No need to fake a smile or pretend that everything is okay. That... Broke Thor.

The two brothers spent hours tearing into Thor about how much anguish he caused them, and Thor couldn't even look at his sons. His eyes were dead. Whatever little will he had left, died. And as Modi and Magni finished their speech, Thor looked at Ryu with pleading eyes. "Kill me," Thor begged.

"No. You don't get to escape like that. After all the horrendous shit you've done, you want to avoid all that responsibility?" Ryu stared down at Thor as he talked. "Do you want to leave Thrud and Sif all alone? To mess up the only remaining good thing in your life?" Ryu asked as Thor couldn't look him in the eye.

"Here's what's going to happen. You'll abandon Odin, get your shit together, and become a good father. You can't fix what you did in the past, but you can be better in the future. For the sake of your family, you 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 to be better. You can change. Just as Kratos did. Commit to it, and live for the sake of your family if you can't live for yourself. What do you say?"
