Chapter 48 : Shocking Information

After hearing the answer from Shisui, Kai fell silent, his brain trying to process the words that came out of Shisui.

He didn't know how to react to the shocking information that he just got from Shisui.

He was finding it hard to believe with that information he just got, because of how important that information was the earliest he knew about it.

Kai tries to recall from his memory about his first encounter with Shisui, the times he was being chased by a group of hogs while he was exploring the forest.

He remembered that times when Shisui helped him, he felt a little weird because Shisui was using his sharingan even though Shisui was only facing a group of hogs but at that time he decided to ignore it because he thought Shisui was just to make sure that he was safe.

He also didn't feel anything when Shisui cast his genjutsu on him except feeling a little startled by how suddenly shisui appeared in front of him which is normal when you get jumpscare.

"Uhh…, Shisui-san, are you sure about what you said?"

"Yes Kai"

After getting another confirmation from Shisui, Kai thought the biggest possibility why the mental attack cannot affect him was the presence of the system and he also had the memory from his previous world.

And even though he was not quite sure yet, he thought there's a small possibility some memory from his previous life about this world was being altered in context of some powerful people from this world that are close to deity level.

Because sometimes when he looks at the moon, he feels something weird but he doesn't know the reason for that feeling in his heart and the weird fairy tale that his father told him, he feels he is missing something that is really important but he didn't know what.

"Do you know the reason you can't get trapped in genjutsu?"

"I might have some possibility, the reason why I can't get trapped in genjutsu, But I'm sorry Shisui-san. I can't tell you about it even if I die."

"It's okay Kai, I'm only curious about it. Sharingan that the Uchiha clan was always proud of, can't trap you inside the genjutsu that were still in the academy, it's funny isn't it?"

Looking at the Shisui who seems to be in a trance while thinking about something after saying those words, Kai seems to know why those words that aimed at the Uchiha clan came out of Shisui.

If he was not wrong the condition between the Uchiha clan and village already started deteriorating and in a few months the person in front of him was going to die.

Becoming another sacrifice because of the cruelty and the darkness of the world that he was now living in.

"Are you okay Shisui-san?"

"I'm okay Kai, I am only thinking about something."

"Thank you for asking."

Seeing Shisui who was smiling while answering his questions, Kai didn't know how to feel about it.

The cruelty of the world he now lives in has created so many broken men including the person that was in front of him.

Walking closer to Shisui he feels his parrot grip tighten in his shoulder but he keeps walking closer until a meter is left the distance between two of them.

"Shisui-san, thank you for your assistance in helping me with my training."

After giving Shisui a deep bow, Kai retreated a few steps back because he didn't want to make his parrot more uncomfortable.

"You don't have to Kai, it was for my apologies for trying to put you in genjutsu even though I don't even need to."

"You should go home Kai, the sky is going to get darker if you don't go outside the forest quickly it is going to be hard to navigate."

Looking at the color of sky that was already really orange, Kai was sure that his mother was going to scold him when he was back.

Feeling that he needs to go home quickly he once more says his thanks to Shisui before packing his belongings and walking straight to where the tree line was at.

When he wants to enter the tree line, Kai looks back to where Shisui was, who's still standing in the middle of the opening with a smile on his face and waving his hand to him.

And looking at the smile his heart really hurt, he thought he needed to think of something to help Shisui.

After he also waved his hand, he went inside the forest where he started running to the direction where the sun was setting to make it easier to navigate and with eagle eyes that gave slightly vision in the dark it was still easy to navigate in almost dark forest.
