The Red Seal

Although Rei had gotten the inspiration he still needed time to realize the new jutsu in reality.

A few months flew by as Rei continued to tweak the seals for his new jutsu.

During this time he also continued to study and experiment with new seals to deepen his knowledge of fuinjutsu, but he was mainly focused on seals related to the current jutsu he was developing.

Minato had already introduced Rei to Kushina Uzumaki before he left, so if Rei needed any help with sealing jutsu he could ask her for help, which Rei was very happy to do.

Although Kushina treated him nicely, Rei understood that she wouldn't share all of her clan's knowledge with him, it seemed she didn't share everything with Minato either so what could he expect, but the little knowledge she shared was enough for Rei.

He had never planned on depending on her or anyone else fully to begin with he just wanted to build a foundation since starting from scratch would waste too much time. And now that he had built his foundation in fuinjutsu he was ready to soar, he was confident that he would surpass their knowledge one day.

And it wasn't a baseless confidence either because in his previous life what made him terrifying wasn't his battle aptitude but his intelligence, creativity and topnotch research aptitude, but this didn't mean his battle aptitude was bad either.

As his knowledge grew he understood that the field of fuinjutsu was very vast, be it the space type seals, the curse type or the barrier type each field was vast and would require a long time to learn and master.

The Iwa shinobi slowly opened his eyes and saw a dim light and face through his blurry vision.

He wanted to cry in pain but his eyes had long dried up, his eyes were red as if they would pop out at any moment.

"Oh you woke up again? Forgive me for being unskilled but don't worry your suffering won't last long since I am almost done, It has almost been three months, time sure flies fast."

Rei sighed he touched the man's forehead and a small red diamond shaped mark appeared on his forehead, not long after the diamond glowed and black markings quickly spread out from it covering the shinobi's body starting with his face.

The markings glowed with a faint red light occasionally and gave off a complex and mysterious feeling.

Rei felt the chakra in the shinobi's body move as it reacted to the fuinjutsu markings.

The cells in the shinobi's body vibrated as the chakra stored in them slowly started to move as if it had will of its own, although the amount was miniscule from a single cell there were billions of them in the body, slowly it gathered in the chakra pathway system and its flow started to surge.

The shinobi's body trembled in pain as the chakra in his body was quickly sucked away by the markings.

"Oops! too fast."

Rei quickly adjusted the markings and the flow slowed down to a gentle crawl, the Iwa shinobi's face also relaxed.

After seeing that there were no problems he reversed the flow, chakra started to come out from the red marking and started to seep in to the shinobi's cells.

"Haha finally"

It was finally done after months of tiresome work, the seal was working without any problems, the seal was also very efficient as he had reduced the number of seals required for it from an original 100 to 69.

Rei cheered in his mind and smiled as he looked at the glowing red mark feeling the familiar feeling of achievement that he hadn't felt for a long time.

For a ninja chakra was very important and Rei realised that the amount of chakra one had depended on the bloodline, for example the Uzumaki and the Senju had a monstrous amount of chakra.

Since he had no way to improve his bloodline right now he decided to create a jutsu that can act as a chakra reserve instead, and he had finally succeeded.

This was probably the happiest moment in this new life of his.

Rei didn't waste any more time and quickly adjusted himself and gathered chakra towards his forehead, black markings slowly appeared all over his body as he formed a few hand signs to control his chakra.

After a while the markings moved as if alive and gathered towards his forehead slowly fusing into each other creating a red diamond shaped mark that glowed faintly.

The markings were not visible to the naked eyes unless he used the chakra from the red mark, the same went for the red mark but he could still show the red mark if he wanted to stand out.

Soon after Rei could feel his chakra slowly leaving his cells and moving towards the diamond getting stored in it, he could also adjust the chakra flow speed as per his will.

With time the amount of chakra stored in the seal would increase and he wouldn't have to worry about running out of chakra in the middle of a battle.

After the red seal stabilized he took out a kunai and swiped it across the neck of the Iwa shinobi killing him in one go.

"You can rest now."

His red eyes were cold as he looked at the dying shinobi.
