The Start of the Descent!

Fugaku wasn't how I thought he would be, many people thought him to be an absolutely strict father that forced Itachi to go down the path of instability, but he was constantly smiling and talking with everyone, we were currently having dinner but I still watched the interaction with Itachi. It was naturally devoid of any hidden meaning, but he smiled, he smiled with pride at how skilled his son was, maybe that's what drove Sasuke, his accomplishments in the early days were nothing compared to Itachi, thus not being granted the focus of his father's affection while Itachi was an ANBU by that time at 12.

'I mean I shouldn't really judge, I'm not even trying to save them...' I sighed as I ignored another one of the constant dilemmas that I faced, whether or not to change the course of the world. While Fugaku and his immediate family looked like good people I knew nothing about the rest of them, will they be resentful towards the Leaf because of the distance between them, or will they create problems with the timeline is changed, but since I am already considering changing the Hyuga affair what's the difference in changing the fate of the Uchiha's...

When I first arrived in this world, although I could touch and breathe as if I was alive I still thought about most of the people as pieces of a story that I once enjoyed, now after almost a year of fighting, living the life of a Konoha Genin, some of my feelings have changed. Itachi's family is now no longer a tragic backstory but more of a clan head being burdened by expectations of his clan and the dissent that he sees from the Leaf council. Although it was still tolerable right now, as even the Uchiha compromised, but as the number of patrols over the Uchiha compound keeps increasing over the year, they would start feeling less a part of the village and more prisoners in their own home...

I sighed as I collected myself, "Let's go to the meeting, Itachi-kun, Fujii-kun..." Fugaku spoke and we slowly made our way toward the Naka Shrine. The Naka Shrine always was a little outside the village proper, a tribute to their patron, it was away from the eyes of the village, but after the Uchiha clan had to relocate, they moved a little closer to the shrine thus incorporating it into the Uchiha district, while the exterior of the shrine was a like a small temple, Fukagu stood over the seventh tatami mat from the far right in the main hall.

"Use your Sharingan!" Fugaku Instructed and both my and Itachi's eyes blazed red. Fugaku gave Itachi another proud smile before he went through 6 hand seals.

A stone slab lifted from the floor into the air revealing the hidden passage, Fukagu said, "Follow me before he jumped into the opening!"

"Yeah, sorry" I jumped down the opening, and we arrived at an underground hallway that lead to an underground hall, Fujii's attention immediately shifted to the large tablet that was placed at the other end of the hall, two fire torches were lit beside it lightning it up, the contents of the tablet were never revealed in the show so Fujii immediately activated his Sharingan to read the contents.

I stared at the notification once again, struck by the two different paths that appeared in front of me, a path that Madara and then Obito Uchiha walked, and a path that Itachi Uchiha severed...

"Marvelous isn't it?" Fujii turned towards Fugaku and Itachi, he too had his Sharingan activated as he read the words written on the ancient tablet.

"You should be proud, we are the descendants of the Sage of Six Paths, the original creator of Ninjutsu, our clan has survived for generations, and we will continue to do so..." Fugaku had an expression of extreme pride and it was then Fujii realized why the Uchiha coup couldn't be resolved in a peaceful manner, ever since the Uchiha's were instructed to relocate, a seed of dissent was sown, and every day it is being watered by Konoha as they try to keep important matters away from Uchiha shinobi.

'The Uchiha are a proud clan, I'm surprised it would take 3 more years before the idea of a coup emerges among the ranks, Hiruzen or Fugaku must have tried to work it out... but the distrust sown by the Nine tails attack couldn't be overridden by just words.'

Fugaku cleared his throat, "There was a council meeting today, regarding the ongoing skirmishes along the border, an envoy would be arriving at the Daimyo's court soon before they come to Konoha, while it may not need to be the case, we need to prepare."

I watched the expressions of the Uchiha clansmen turn grim, as Sharingan flashed in their eyes...
