Team Selection!

{In the Hokage's Office, 1 day after the genin exam}

--------3rd POV--------

The Hokage's office was on top of the administrative building, it was circular giving him complete vision in front of him, and he could see the uneasiness regarding the new Jounin sensei who would be applying to test their very first genin's. Konoha's Shinobi system balances on the fulcrum that are these genin teams, or at least the genin teams that would pass the exam tomorrow.

Becoming a Jounin-Sensei was a privilege reserved for the shinobi that have once passed the genin exam themselves, it produces a culture of only the elites training other elites. The students who fail the true genin exam are allowed to go back to the academy and try again next year or join the genin corps. The genin corps were another fundamental part of the military force of Konoha, the student that fail to pass the genin exams are given general training for about 6 months before being inserted back into active force, their missions consisted of C-B rank in difficulty and used to fill up items led by Chunin.

"Since everyone is here, let's get started..." Hiruzen spoke, as he started shuffling the bundle of files sitting on his desk, he puffed a smoke ring as he indicated at the Hyuga that was standing on the corner.

"Kouji Hyuga, Hokage-sama, requesting Shi Aburame, Kinto Hyuga and Nami Kazuo, for a search and rescue team." As soon as he finished speaking there were several scoffs from around the room, the Konoha team placement system was fair, on the day of the genin exams the jounin sensei were allowed to watch the young shinobi and come up with a 3 man team that they believe could pass their genin exams. Hence there was quite a lot of roughhousing among the Jounin's. Hiruzen on the other hand loved this day, watching his elites fight among themselves was another highlight of his long career.

Kouji finally got his team approved although his original choices were changed from Shi Aburame to another civilian kid. As the jounin's one by one started naming the team they wanted.

"Suzaku Nara, Hokage-sama, requesting Fujii Uchiha, Asano Yamanaka, Kione Aburame, for an infiltration and capture team." What followed Nara's words was a silence before followed by outrage, as many jounin's commented on the fact that his team alone had 3 clan shinobi, Hiruzen picked up the three files from the pile and placed them side by side, it was an interesting combination, one tried 3 times before but never really successful, and to create a search and capture team without a sensor was quite bad, although the Aburame can set up a perimeter, a close-ranged sensor is more needed when infiltrating into enemy territory.

He held up a hand stopping all the protests and asked, "Is Asano a sense Suzaku-kun?" the team looked fine in his opinion if a sensor could be on the team, otherwise their team description needed to change, plus he needed to give both the Uchiha's a Jounin sensei that belonged to a clan anyway. Sometimes he just hated politics.

"No Hokage-sama, but Fujii Uchiha is..." the Nara said and then yawned as several jounin's exploded, the value of Itachi diminished for a bit even if he was the clan heir.

"An Uchiha sensor huh," Hiruzen chuckled before he nodded and put the files together in the approved pile. "I'll need his evaluation..." he commented as an afterthought but Adachi nodded seriously, there was no reason for an Uchiha to hide his talents after all...

--------Fujii's POV--------

It's been three days since the genin exam, the advanced class was back together for team placements when the doors opened, and Takami Sensei came in with a pad in front of him, on it was supposed to be a list of names that would decide their future.

"Team 1, Seo Toshimichi, Kinto Hyuga, and Nami Kazuo, your sensei is Kouji Hyuga..."

As Takami sensei started to list the names one by one Fujii kept track of his classmates being divided into teams. I just wanted two competent teammates who would just hold themselves together until the next chunin exams and then I can get promoted and focus on grinding for Jutsus...

I had been planning my future development based on the skill tree that I had available, so doing a lot of missions won't help me much, I mean the experience points would be nice, maybe I would finally decide on what happened after looking at how much experience I would be getting per mission, but this team was just temporary, even Itachi blitzed past the ranks soo fast that there were no comrades who were able to catch up to him.

"Team 2, Itachi Uchiha, Tenma Izumo, and Shinko Inari, your sensei is Yūki Minazuki..."

'Huh, how did that happen, wait I remember, the council intervene in this team's selection, Itachi's team had a very messy history along with that mission of guarding the Daimyo...'

It was a little titbit that I remembered watching, how Itachi got his Sharingan was an important point in his documentary. 'Although now that I think about it, Itachi awakened his eyes after becoming a genin, it is a little different here though, just my presence shouldn't have changed that right?'

"Team 7, Fujii Uchiha, Asano Yamanaka, Kione Aburame, your sensei is Suzaku Nara" Takami Sensei spoke. My attention was focused on my two teammates, their names and level floating in my vision.

'Two clan kids and my sensei is a Nara... what is happening if the heir to the Uchiha clan got a civilian sensei then I should have gotten the same treatment, what is the council trying to do, are they trying to test Fugaku?'

Asano and Kione sat down beside me, both of them were roughly a head taller than me, Asano was 10 years old and Kione was 9, as Takami sensei was still talking I just greeted them with a nod and listened to the last team being called out.

"Alright, you would meet your sensei now, best of luck!" Takami sensei gave us a thumbs up and a smile before opening the door. 8 older shinobi opened the door, I followed the names before my attention was focused on the black-haired dude that looked oddly like Shikaku, his hair was tied up in a high ponytail and he had a serious expression on his face that just seemed odd on a Nara.

I looked at the name of my new sensei...
