The last class was in mathematics, something quite simple; with questions like: if a ninja takes 20 shurikens with him, spends 13, and recovers 2, how many shurikens would the ninja still have at his disposal?
Something that practically none of the children had much trouble with, even Naruto managed to solve it.
...
After the class, Kaito walked towards the swing and found Naruto sitting there waiting for him.
"You came really fast, Naruto."
"Yes, as soon as the class ended, I came straight here. So, where are we going to train? In the middle of the hour or at the training field?" Naruto replied, asking two questions in a row.
"In neither of those places, Naruto. We're going to train at my house," Kaito replied to Naruto with a smile on his face.
"Hmmm, can I really come to train at your house? Are you sure? And your parents?" Naruto asked with a sad look on his face.
"Relax, Naruto. You can come, no need to worry."
"Alright then, let's go. By the way, I didn't ask your name yet. You already know mine is Naruto, and I'm going to become the next Hokage," Naruto said, smiling and giving a thumbs-up.
"My name is Kaito, Naruto. Kaito Kazeji, nice to meet you. Well, now that you know my name, let's go and train." Without letting Naruto say anything else, Kaito started walking towards his house.
On the way, Naruto talked about various things: the class, the food at the academy, how Sasuke was moody, how he liked Sakura, and other topics.
At first, Kaito found it annoying, but after he realized that Naruto didn't have many friends to talk to, he joined in on the conversations.
...
They soon arrived at Kaito's house, where Naruto hesitated for a moment but then followed Kaito inside.
"Mom, Dad, I'm home with a guest. A friend from school came to train with me."
After Kaito said this, his parents looked in his direction and saw who the guest was. His father was a little surprised, but his mother showed no reaction and welcomed Naruto calmly.
"Oh, that's nice, our son brought a little friend home. Come on in, soon dinner will be ready, and you can stay for dinner," she said, smiling.
"Th-thank you, ma'am. Is it not going to be a bother?" Naruto asked with a smile, and his stomach agreed with a rumble.
"Of course not. You're welcome to eat with us. Soon, when the food is ready, I'll call you both."
The two then walked to the backyard behind the house, continuing their conversation.
"By the way, Naruto, my mother's name is Hana. If you need anything, you can go talk to her. But for now, let's start training."
In the middle of the open space, Kaito prepared for training, followed by Naruto.
"Alright, Kaito, but I don't want to be a bother, so let's train."
With both of them prepared, they started sparring. Naruto ran towards Kaito just like before, but this time he kicked instead of punching, a direct kick.
"Hahaha, it's good to change your movement pattern, Naruto, at least it's not the same punch as before," Kaito said while dodging the kick.
"This time you'll lose, Kaito, I'm sure of it," Naruto said while punching Kaito again.
'He changed the movement, but the tactic is the same, that's what he needs to improve'. Kaito thought while defending against Naruto's punch.
This time, Kaito pushed Naruto's arm to the side and punched him in the chest, which Naruto managed to defend with some difficulty but quickly recovered. With two more punches from Naruto, he couldn't do anything but defend the first and try to dodge the second, unsuccessfully.
Naruto was thrown back and sat on the ground for a short while. He got up as if nothing had happened and attacked again, with punches and kicks exchanged between the two; neither of them wanted to lose.
Meanwhile, with Haruki.
"Did you see, my love, who he invited home? Naruto Uzumaki. I didn't expect that, but we're not like those old folks and other ignorant civilians who hate a child. Did you see how excited he looked when you mentioned food? What's the Hokage doing that he doesn't see this? The child probably isn't eating properly. Well, since he's here, we'll take care of him today," Hana said, not giving her husband a chance to respond.
"Hahaha, it could only be our son. I was speechless. But it's not a big problem. Let's take good care of him. I'll check on their training in a bit and help them out. It's the first time our son has brought a friend. I was worried he wouldn't want to socialize with anyone. He seemed as cold as you when he was younger, hahaha," Haruki smiled as he remembered his younger wife.
She looked at her husband with an extremely cold gaze, as if the air around her was freezing, but it was just an impression.
"Haruki, when are you going to tell our son about my clan? I know that the Hokage sealed my chakra because he didn't fully trust me, but he might have the power of my clan, and with that, I can guide him. He would certainly become very strong using our kekkei genkai."
"Have patience, my love. I'll teach him the Shadow Clone Jutsu, and with that, he can learn more quickly. It's about your sealed chakra; I'm training in fuinjutsu, and soon I'll be able to remove your seal. I know you only agreed to have your chakra sealed so you could stay with me," Haruki said as he looked at his wife with a guilty expression.
"My love, there's no need for that. It was the Hokage who sealed my chakra. If you undo my seal, the Hokage will become suspicious of you, and that wouldn't be good for us," Hana replied, concerned for her husband's safety.
"Relax, my love. The seal I'm making will only partially undo yours. You'll be able to switch it on and off whenever you want, and he won't notice." After proudly confirming this, Haruki hugged his wife and then walked to the backyard.
"Now I'm going to check on the boys. I'll help them in their training."
Arriving in the backyard, Haruki saw an intense fight where neither of them wanted to lose, even though they were both very exhausted.
After observing for a while, he decided it was time to intervene.
"Well, well. Boys, it's time to stop fighting, or you'll be too hurt to continue training. I'll give you 10 minutes to rest, and then I'll teach you how to fight, but not with punches, with weapons. So, rest."
After his father said this, Kaito and Naruto stopped fighting and lay down on the ground to rest.
"Naruto, you have a lot of endurance; I can hardly keep up, and I dodged most of your punches, but I'm still as tired as you," Kaito said, impressed by Naruto's endurance.
"Hahaha, I won't give up for anything," Naruto said while still lying down.
'These two are something else, but this will be better, the training will be much more intense'. Haruki looked at the two while thinking.
Soon, the 10 minutes passed.
"Come on, boys, get up. Let's teach Naruto the basics, and Kaito, you can continue training on what I told you earlier."
After saying this, Haruki explained to Naruto the same thing he had told Kaito before.
Unlike Kaito, Naruto chose a staff. Haruki was a bit intrigued and asked Naruto why he chose it, and Naruto gave a very simple answer.
"I want the staff because I think it suits me better, and I don't need to maintain it. I just need to hit my enemy with it." He said with a smile.
...
One hour later.
Kaito and Naruto were finishing their training, showing some mastery with their weapons, and surprisingly, Naruto had some talent for using a staff in combat.
Haruki got the boys' attention and spoke again.
"Now, you guys will rest for a bit and go eat. Dinner is already served. After dinner, we'll train again, but this time, it won't be kenjutsu; it'll be chakra control. I'll teach you methods to improve chakra control, which will be great when you try to learn ninjutsu."
The eyes of Naruto and Kaito sparkled.
