Hidden Mist Ninjas

"Sasuke!" Yasui said as he threw his shurikens.

Sasuke was already prepared, and he threw a kunai. The kunai that he threw incapacitated the mist ninja's sharp chain and pinned it onto the tree.

Yasui's two shurikens also hit their target and stabbed right into the two mist ninja's shoulder tendons, making each of their arms useless.

Sasuke jumped and landed on their two metal arms that had chains connected to them and kicked the two ninjas in their faces.

Yasui also flickered behind the two mist ninjas. He held two kunai in each hand, and he stabbed directly at the mid-spinal cords of the two mist ninjas that were falling down from Sasuke's kick.

"KUAHH!!"

The two mist ninjas felt the control in their lower bodies leaving them! They could no longer move anything below their waists!

Sasuke landed at this moment and stepped on the two mist ninja's metal arms, and he prevented them from using their remaining limb.

Yasui then came forth and gave each of them a kick in the head to knock them out… He felt that the fight was a little underwhelming.

Tazuna saw this and sighed in relief. He felt that it was a good idea to get leaf ninjas to help him get back to the land of waves.

Kakashi appeared at this moment and looked at the two ninjas who had fainted due Yasui's kick. He nodded in approval.

"Good job Yasui and Sasuke. You two did very well.." Kakashi complimented both Yasui and Sasuke. Their reaction to the sudden attack was really good.

"Kakashi sensei! You're alright!" Naruto had thought that Kakashi died. When he looked over at the pieces on the dirt floor, he saw that it's just twigs. Kakashi had tricked him twice into thinking that he had died with the substitution technique.

"Sorry that I didn't help you guys. I wanted to see how well you guys will do without me. Naruto, I didn't think that you would be incapable of moving." Kakashi gave Naruto a glance before walking to the two mist shinobis.

At this moment, Nartuo came to the realization that he had done absolutely nothing. He just stood there while feeling scared. On the other hand, both Sasuke and Yasui had done great in their first real battle!

"Yo, were you afraid, scaredy cat?" Sasuke decided to taunt Naruto and acted relaxed with his hand in his pocket.

"Heh! Don't think too much about it, Naruto. It's normal to be scared in the first battle." Yasui also chipped in. He wasn't trying to mock Naruto, but he wanted to use this chance to give Naruto the same character development as he did in the canon. He wanted to give Naruto this little push.

Naruto heard both of them and he quieted down. He wasn't hurt externally, but he felt extremely hurt on the inside.

"By the way, Mr. Tazuna." Kakashi turned to Tazuna and spoke.

"W-What is it!?" Tazuna stepped back.

"I have something to talk to you about." Kakashi's eyes narrowed, and this made Tazuna even more nervous.

"These two are Chunin from the Village Hidden in the Mist. They were taken out too quickly for me to decide who their real targets are, but they're aiming for you. Isn't that right, Mr. Tazuna? This is a mission with a B rank or higher due to the involvement of ninjas. The information that you provided does not match the mission's content. This is beyond the scope of our mission." Kakashi explained to Tazuna with a threatening look. If it was any normal teams, they might've gotten hurt due to this misinformation.

"I-I…" Tazuna didn't know how to explain. If he said that he gave out misinformation due to the lack of money, he might be imprisoned by the hidden leaf.

"Let's continue this mission, Kakashi Sensei! I'll never get into a situation where I will need to be rescued! I'll never be afraid or be a coward! I won't lose to Sasuke and Yasui! I'll swear on my life that I will protect old man Tazuna! And I will not back down! This is my Nindo! My ninja way!" Naruto looked at everyone with a determined look in his eyes.

"This kid…" Kakashi listened and felt helpless with Naruto's determination. He couldn't just deny him in continuing this mission, right?

"That's right! Let's continue! I'll send all of those who oppose me to hell! That's my Nindo, my Ninja way!!" Yasui also joined in on the fun.

Kakashi felt a little creeped out when he heard Yasui. Unlike Naruto who had said it to show his determination, he felt that Yasui's Niondo way sounds like a real tortuous threat. Just thinking about Yasui's "Hell" made him shiver.

Kakashi quickly created some images of females in his mind to overwrite the image of Dancing Hiruzen that's starting to emerge.

Nearby in the land of waves, a criminal boss named Gato asked Zabuza why his henchmen failed the mission of killing Tazuna the bridge builder.

The reason that Gato wanted the bridge builder to die is that the bridge symbolizes freedom and a better future for the civilians on the island. If the bridge is built, his reign as the overlord of the Land of Waves will fall.

Feeling annoyed at Gato's yapping, Zabuza threatened him with the Executioner's blade–one of the seven swords of the hidden mist village. This blade, in particular, can absorb the iron from the blood of its victims and it uses it to repair any damages that are done to it.

In the end… Zabuza told Gato that he will be going in person.

[A/N: Recently, I've been testing out the follow-the-canon technique (particularly in the dialogue). It's a bit bland at times since it's canon dialogue. However, I might still continue this for a little bit while adding some variations. Well, at least until the Chunin Exam arc. In the meantime… enjoy the character development and fight scenes.]
