Gin was desperately running away.
His figure flashed repeatedly—on rocks, on dead trees—using Shunshin to the fullest, basically sprinting for his life.
The main issue was the colossal entity chasing him.
Behind him, a massive head opened its mouth, releasing a fireball that left only ashes in its wake.
If Gin hadn't dodged quickly, he would have become just a small piece of those ashes.
He glanced at the massive trench left by the fireball's path.
A tailed beast was far beyond his ability to handle. One mistake and he would be dead.
"Stop running if you dare!"
The Nibi's jinchūriki roared behind him, swiping at Gin with her claws, but caught nothing but air, leaving a massive crater in the ground.
"You stop chasing me if you dare!!"
He wasn't about to stop running—did she expect him to wait around to die?
He still wanted to live a few more thousand years; he wasn't about to die so early.
Damn it.
White Fang, that bastard.
Leaving him to deal with the tailed beast—what was he even thinking?
This beast would annihilate dozens of jōnin in no time!
The fact that he had survived this long was already a miracle!
Explosive tags, unless in huge quantities like Konan's, wouldn't even scratch it.
As for large-scale jutsus, most of them were out of his league!
"One day, I'll create a jutsu just to deal with tailed beasts!!"
Gin raged internally.
But for now, none of that helped with the massive beast chasing after him!!!
A giant claw descended from the sky.
Gin's figure flickered, appearing a short distance away.
The dead tree under the claw crumbled into dust, its remnants catching fire.
Gin stood on a rock, staring at the Nibi.
"I can't just keep running forever."
Gin gripped his sword tightly, contemplating whether he could control the tailed beast.
Both Kurama and Isobu had been helpless before the Sharingan.
Madara and Obito would've given him a thumbs up.
Gin locked eyes with the Nibi, the tomoe in his eyes spinning rapidly.
The Nibi stopped in its tracks, its raised claw frozen in midair. In its pupils, faint Sharingan patterns began to appear.
But soon...
"Ugh." Gin groaned, covering one eye as blood trickled from its corner.
"I'm pushing too hard."
The Sharingan in the Nibi's eyes vanished.
However, the Nibi didn't attack immediately. Instead, it crouched down, warily eyeing Gin.
"It looks like the real Nibi is out now."
Gin wiped his eye socket.
Things were getting worse.
When humans control a tailed beast, their power is somewhat suppressed, unable to exert their full strength.
A tailed beast's true power can only be unleashed by the beast itself.
Whoosh!
In an instant, the Nibi began charging at Gin on all fours.
Gin leaped back, his hands forming seals rapidly.
"This jutsu is barely usable."
His hands came together in a seal.
"Meiton! Kokuangyo no Jutsu!" (Dark Release: Bringer of Darkness Technique)
A dark shade began spreading from behind Gin, enveloping everything in blackness wherever it reached.
The massive black space formed quickly.
The Nibi, charging toward him, was trapped within the darkness.
Immediately, the Nibi curled its body into a ball and rolled forward, breaking free from the dark space's confinement.
It opened its mouth, gathering chakra around it.
The true Bijūdama.
A powerful Bijūdama fired into the darkness, obliterating everything within, with destructive energy expanding outward, even affecting the area beyond the darkness.
But Gin's figure appeared high above the Nibi.
His Kusanagi sword was already prepared.
"Tsuki no Kokyū!" (Moon Breathing!)
This technique far surpassed ordinary breathing techniques, but he could only use it sparingly.
Its name:
"Hachi no Kata!" (Eighth Form!)
"Tsukiryū Enbi!" (Moon Dragon Tail!)
A massive slash formed in midair, with countless crescent moon blades within it.
From above, it came crashing down.
It struck the Nibi, leaving a deep wound along its body, accompanied by countless smaller cuts.
Compared to Sakumo, though, it wasn't much.
The Nibi remained unharmed, even leaping into the air and swatting Gin toward the ground with its tail.
This was not something the Nibi's jinchūriki could have done earlier.
This time, Gin couldn't dodge. The powerful tail slammed him into the ground.
His body bounced off the earth from the impact, and blood spurted from his mouth.
Gin scrambled to his feet, crawling away from the spot on all fours as fast as he could.
A massive fireball crashed down.
Boom!
A huge crater appeared in the ground.
"Phew."
Gin, having dodged in time, let out a long breath.
He was still far too inexperienced to face the Nibi.
Gin gritted his teeth.
"That bastard Sakumo, why isn't he back yet?"
The Nibi turned toward Gin again, gathering energy in its mouth once more.
"Heh, here we go again."
Gin glared at the distant Nibi, ignoring the pain in his eyes as the tomoe in his Sharingan spun rapidly.
At that moment, the Nibi's eyes once again reflected the Sharingan pattern.
It faltered for a second.
This caused the Bijūdama in its mouth to become unstable.
Boom!!
The Nibi was blasted into the air, with most of its body blown away. Even the jinchūriki's body was ejected from the explosion.
The Nibi lost its form entirely, and the flames quickly receded into the jinchūriki's body.
At this moment, instead of fleeing, Gin rushed toward the Nibi.
Although the jinchūriki could regain consciousness and use the tailed beast's power again...
This brief moment of unconsciousness was his only chance!!
In an instant, Gin was next to the jinchūriki, Yugito.
The explosion from the Bijūdama had forced her out of her transformation, leaving her dazed.
As she regained consciousness, the first thing she saw was Uchiha Gin standing before her.
The scarlet Sharingan loomed large in her vision.
A skeletal cage materialized around them.
It was fragile and incomplete, as though it would shatter with even the slightest force.
The area around them was pitch black, with the only light coming from within the cage.
Yugito lay within the cage, the only source of light being the blue flames of the Nibi curled up inside.
Upon seeing the stranger's arrival, the Nibi opened its eyes.
"An Uchiha brat!?"
The Nibi roared at Gin, the cage holding it shaking violently, as though it would collapse at any moment.
But no matter how hard it struggled, the Nibi couldn't break free.
Gin ignored the Nibi, instead turning his attention to the disheveled woman huddled in the corner of the cage.
"Being a jinchūriki really is a miserable fate, huh?"
Gin squatted next to the woman, her face lifeless.
"If you want to release the Nibi, now's your chance."
Yugito shot Gin a cold glance, showing no sign of resistance. She simply remained curled up in the corner.
She had long wished to die to escape the despair brought upon her by the Nibi.
"What a pity."
Gin shook his head in regret, his scarlet Sharingan already activated as he gazed at Yugito.
Her pupils reflected the same pattern as the Sharingan, and she fell into silence.
Gin turned his attention to the Nibi.
"Matatabi, I'm here to negotiate."
