However, not all villages attended. For example, Takigakure had declined.

Back when the original Leaf Village was destroyed by Uchiha Yi's Divine Fire Heaven Wrath, Takigakure narrowly escaped annihilation thanks to Black Zetsu's warning about the importance of keeping the Jinchūriki alive.

Despite their survival, the traumatic event left Takigakure with deep psychological scars. The current situation bore a striking resemblance to those fateful days, leaving them paranoid that history might repeat itself.

Even though they had no pressing issues, they declined the invitation under the pretext of being unable to attend.

"How would I know?" Izumo retorted. "I don't have Hokage-level insight! If you're so curious, go ask her yourself. I'm sure she'd appreciate your 'dedication.'"

"You're right, you're right," Kotetsu muttered. "Say, have you noticed how much Amegakure has developed over the years? They've climbed to the level of the Five Great Nations. It's terrifying!"

"Agreed." Izumo nodded. "Rumor has it that during the destruction of Leaf, the Six Paths Sage's mythical treasure fell into Amegakure's hands. That would explain their creation of all those steel puppets."

Izumo spoke from personal experience. He had once been part of a goodwill mission to Amegakure and had been utterly dumbfounded by the number of Transformers—mechanical giants capable of combat—roaming the streets.

Each of these steel colossi boasted the power of a jōnin, and there were at least two thousand of them. If true, this meant Amegakure possessed a force equivalent to two thousand jōnin, and these warriors could be endlessly produced.

The prospect was chilling.

"I still can't believe how far they've come," Kotetsu said.

"Right? They used to be just a small village clinging to survival, and now look at them," Izumo replied.

Unbeknownst to them, the rumors about the Six Paths Sage's treasure falling into Amegakure's hands were the work of certain black-market groups. While such claims were unfounded, they had nonetheless spread like wildfire.

Even Uchiha Yi himself was aware of these rumors. Although his strength left him unbothered by plots or schemes, the misinformation was an irritating thorn in his side. He had even assigned people to investigate the source, but the culprits remained elusive.

"Stop! You're insane, Izumo!" Kotetsu hissed suddenly, grabbing his partner. "You dare to call that disgrace Sarutobi Hiruzen the Third Hokage? After what he did?!"

"Wha—mhm!" Izumo's response was cut off as Kotetsu clamped a hand over his mouth.

"Don't forget how much everyone despises him! Thanks to that old man, we almost lost everything!" Kotetsu whispered fiercely.

"Mmm! Okay, okay, I get it!" Izumo gasped when finally released.

"Good," Kotetsu muttered, glaring at him. "If anyone else heard you, you'd be thrown out of the village!"

"Yeah, yeah. I just slipped up," Izumo said, rubbing his neck.

Suddenly, Kotetsu's eyes narrowed. "Hey, what's that?"

In the distance, a massive dust cloud was rapidly approaching. Izumo turned to see a convoy accompanied by thunderous, heart-pounding music reverberating across the plains.

The music—the iconic theme from Pain's legendary entrance—reached all the way to Hokage Tower, where Tsunade immediately perked up.

"It's them," she growled, slamming down her pen and rushing to the gates with her guards.

Others, including ninjas from various villages, were also drawn by the spectacle. Soon, a crowd gathered at the gates, gazing in awe at the convoy of mechanical behemoths rumbling closer.

The vehicles were unlike anything most had ever seen. Accompanied by the blaring music, they radiated an overwhelming aura of dominance, instilling fear and awe in all who witnessed them.

The sheer theatricality of it all made Uchiha Yi's intent clear—this was a statement of power.

"This guy," Tsunade muttered through gritted teeth, recalling her prior visit to Amegakure.

During that visit, she had met Uchiha Yi, the heir apparent to Amegakure. He had infuriated her with his arrogance, calling her a "big milk cow" and thoroughly humiliating her.

Despite her rage, she had been forced to back down. Uchiha Yi's strength was overwhelming, leaving her with no choice but to swallow her pride.

Now, hearing the music and seeing his audacious arrival, Tsunade clenched her fists.

Stay calm, stay calm, she told herself. I can't afford to provoke him.
