14 - Leaving Orphanage

[Tatsumo POV]

As i told kids to play, i walked to principal's office and knocked on door. 

"Please enter."

As i entered, he started speaking, "Hello, Tatsumo-san, its honor to meet you."

"Don't stand on ceremony. I am just retired orphanage director. Its nice to meet you to."

"Don't joke sir, honor is all mine."

"So what do you want to talk about? I take it its about 'Ikki'."

"Yes sir, If we consider only on base of chakra level, he should have failed. But when we checked out his chakra rotation, not even reaching at 'pattern of his chakra rotation', just ability to rotate chakra suggest he will have high chakra control in future. So somewhat increasing chakra may make him good medic nin. On alone base of that, he should be accepted in academy."

I nod. I knew about rotation of chakra in his body. I don't know how, 'Ikki', able to rotate his chakra around his body. May be its blessing in disguise because of his low chakra levels. As i was thinking this, principal continued,

"But we seen pattern of rotation its naturally flowing so that it can strengthen his body so he can practice with his body. Its like his body is telling him, you don't need to do anything just swing sword and i will rotate your chakra on base of that. He is naturally born swordsman. Its like kenjutsu is in his blood."

I nod. and started speaking.

"I know about that. I have noticed his fascination about kenjutsu from start. So i have taught him basics. Now its on him to proceed ahead and develop his own style."

"We are gonna put him in A class. Where he will have clan kids as his classmates and rivals so they can push him. And should we also hire kenjutsu instructor for him."

"Why are you taking so much interest in him?"

"Actually sir, we didn't had any kid which is interested in kenjutsu for quite some time and i am quite at loss how to handle his teaching."

I nod.

"There is no need to hire any kenjutsu instructor. I have already taught him basics. and teaching him any style will be detrimental for him as every kenjutsu user has their own style. Let him read all kenjustu styles from library and develop him his own style. He is natural in kenjutsu so he will find his way. As they say, no need to teach roaster how to crow."

He nods.

"Also don't allow him to use swords in fights." He looked perplexed at that.

"Kenjutsu means fighting with sword and we can't give sword in kids hands right. He will practice with bokken for now. And don't allow in kumite. Let him develop his taijutsu. He need to learn ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjutsu so he integrate them in his style. Except personal training don't allow him swords."

He looked shocked at how strict i am with 'Ikki'. I laughed at that face.

"His sword might have broken when he is fighting or there is many other scenarios. So he need to practice like that also. Also i think he has become somewhat arrogant. Let him realize world is quite big. And about kenjutsu, let his jonin sensei be first to taste it."

We smiled slyly at each other. 

"Thank you for your advice sir."

"Is there anything else?"

"No Sir. Thank you for your time."

"Don't be hard on your self. I am just retired Shinobi."

He smiled at that.

And i leaved his office. 

After reaching ground i can see kids playing. I gather them around and consoled 3 kids who has failed and encouraged them for next year exam and told all of them we are partying tonight.

As we were partying tonight, I realized one thing when meat and chicken dishes served. I can see all kids started eating but "Ikki" didn't. That night i realized, "Ikki" always ate vegetarian dishes. He is vegetarian.

[MC POV]

Its been 4 years, since i came into this world. And from time i came into world till now i lived in this orphanage. But now me and other 6 people have to move out. Its kinda special ceremony for orphanage admitted ninja's to start leaving alone. 

Tomorrow, village will assign me 1 room where i will be leaving until i become genin. And i need to start paying my rent. 

Becoming ninja is costly. And upping your rank from genin to chūnin and chūnin to jōnin need constant training, and training requires resources. First resource is food, than battle uniforms, and lastly medicine.

Take Might Duy and Guy for example, and so is Lee, they have training their body till limits. Of course there is significant role of chakra, as chakra heals your body in less time than normal bodily recovery. But even chakra has some limitations. Chakra can't heal extensive damages, and training with weights and all can create micro tears in body, and bone damage which can't be healed by even chakra. There comes medic nins and medicines. There is food pills, which help you with your hunger and allows you to fight with enemy for 2 to 3 days. There is also ointments and outer skin pastes and etc. Konoha Hospital allows battle related injuries to be cured freely, but without that injuries cost personage highly. 

If normal human beings from earth even try to replicate and Might family's method before opening even single gate they will die.

Yesterday night was quite bang. I enjoyed it thoroughly. But food is causing me issue in this world. Even in previous world, i was veterinarian, and in this world that followed. I need to find a way to solve this issue. 

Today early morning, Old man called all admitted students than told us that we will be leaving tomorrow to our new apartments.

All of us was quite sad, as this is our home. But than he said that we can come over at orphanage whenever we want.

Today i went to every caretakers and thanked them for taking care of me. All children were quite sad that we are leaving.

Lastly i went to office of Old man, He was reading book, special book. I have to say, all old man in konoha are perverts.

"Hey, old man."

"Ohh, Ikki, I take it every thing is packed."

"Yes. But some things remained."

"So why came here?"

"I just wanted to say thank you."

And i bent at 90° and said.

"Thank you for taking care of me until now, and teaching me swordsmanship and kenjutsu. I won't forget you."

"Ikki, stand up."

I stand up straight.

"Its our job to take care of you kids. But i have to say you were my favorite kid. And about kenjutsu, even if i won't taught you, you might have eventually learn that. So don't be hard on yourself."

"You are not good taking thanks, right?"

"Ya i am kinda. Hahaha. Enjoy your life kid and promise me not to die early."

"Don't worry old man. I will at least see your death."

And he throwed paperweight at me. I got scared. 

"Old man, you would have killed me."

"Next time, say that line and i will be arranging your funeral next day."

I seriously nod at that.

"Good. Take this its gift from me."

What he showed was a diary.

"Use it how ever you want. Write your daily days, or anything."

Its leather bound dairy. I always wanted one. 

"Okay, now hurry up and pack your stuff, tomorrow administrator guys will come and show all 7 of you your apartments. I won't be here tomorrow as i need to attend meeting in capital."

"Will meet you again old man bye."

He nods at that and i leave his office.
