The sun hung low over the village of Konoha as I, stood among the aspiring ninja, dressed in the traditional garb and awaiting the entrance exam.
Excitement buzzed in the air as the gates creaked open, revealing the academy's courtyard, the stage for my peculiar journey.
''Today lord hokage will be watching the great young talents who will become future ninja''
Some people gasped seeing the hokage up close but most found confidence to give their all for this test.
''First off we will start with shruiken and kunai throwing''
Approaching the shuriken station, I couldn't suppress a smirk, a confident feeling bubbling within me. However, my first attempt at throwing a shuriken was nothing short of disastrous.
The small weapon sailed wide, missing the target completely. Damn I should of expected this throwing real ninja tools was a different story to the wooden ones I made the weight was too different.
A collective gasp from the onlookers was followed by stifled chuckles. I scratched my head, grinning sheepishly. Kunai throwing didn't prove to be any better; they had a mind of their own, veering off course in unpredictable ways.
The Taijustu arena wasn't much kinder. Facing opponents with more finesse, my attempts at fancy footwork resulted in awkward stumbles and missed strikes.
As Ketsueki stood before a hyuga clan member looking at his face he glared back at me with a smug look on his face.
My attempts at punches and kicks resulted in awkward stumbles and missed strikes.
But eventually Ketsueki managed to get a decent punch in the hyuga but he anticipated it and blocked leading to a follow up kick throwing Ketsueki to the ground.
Ketsueki wiped dust on him and groaned before standing up and both nodded to each other before walking away.
The hyuga boy walked away before looking at his arm taking notice to where he blocked Ketsueki's strike.
His eyes immediately widened he took notice his arms had the imprint of Ketsueki's fist and was slightly bleeding.
''Interesting'' He muttered under his breath before moving on.
Beneath the surface of these fails my true strengths will emerge in the psychical. When the time came for the test, I mowed through casually.
He noticed a bunch of random students with no clan falling down and also some people from his orphanage, he looked ahead of him to see the kids in a clan running their best to impress the hokage.
After 50 laps around the field the Jonin finally said ''Alright that's enough lets wrap it up''
As the exam progressed, I felt the gaze of Lord Hokage Hiruzen sometimes fall upon me.
''hmmm interesting that kid from that incident definitely has potential we need more ninja in these times of struggle.''
The written exam posed a different challenge. I answered each question with unexpected precision. My knowledge, from my pass life helped me answer all the questions with ease except for ninja tactics that's where I struggled.
"Everyone, now line up; we will be announcing who passed and who didn't. Do not be discouraged; you can always try again!"
As the results were announced one by one, it finally got to his name.
Ketsueki stepped forward after a few seconds he yelled ''Pass!''.
Ketsueki let out a deep breath relieved he didn't feel this much pressure from when he did his midterms in college.
Lord Hokage had his eyes on me; he was clearly expecting something due to my past.
Leaving the exam grounds with a grin, I was ready to embrace the unpredictable path that lay ahead. This is just the start of my journey, as his lips curled up into a wide grin.
Hiruzen sat up and proceeded to give his classic will of fire propaganda.
Today, I stand before you not just as your leader, but as one who believes in the boundless potential that resides within every one of you. Our village, built on the foundation of the Will of Fire, is a flame that burns brightly in the hearts of its people. Today, I wish to ignite that flame within each of you, the future protectors of our great village.
