Riding on the back of the Engine Quirk, Kurogiri felt a mild warning from his Danger Sense. He assumed it was just another ninja and used his search Quirk to confirm. Finding nothing nearby, Kurogiri began to ponder how his quirks seemed to receive an even greater boost from using chakra as an energy source compared to just the One for All boost on other quirks.
He theorized that chakra might be a form of energy partly derived from the body. This led Kurogiri to conclude that he must have mutated his quirks when he was born into this world, making them even more powerful.
Despite his suspicion, Kurogiri wasn't about to question the settings of the world since they benefited him. However, he knew he had to be careful about the limitations set by ROB. Kurogiri relished the prospect of being up against the entire world, considering it to be the most exciting challenge ever.
As the Engine Nomu sped through the forest towards the border of the Land of Grass, Kurogiri used ice on the engines to maintain top speed and refilled the Nomu's chakra. He was pleasantly surprised to find that the chakra was enough to create a high-level quirk and a low-level quirk.
Kurogiri decided to use the chakra to create the Energy Saver Quirk, which immediately made a difference by reducing the amount of chakra it took use his quirks.
He was refreshed and debated using the chakra to increase his quirk strength or his Nomu. He chose to strengthen the Engine Nomu's engine Quirk, as faster transportation was always beneficial.
The combination of engine and slide and glide Quirks allowed for lightning-fast speed, enabling Kurogiri to use his search Quirk to locate a village with people. He suddenly realized that he was being followed by ninja who were unaware of his recent actions.
He was pleased, as he needed more chakra to make himself and his Nomus stronger, knowing that no one respected a weak individual, regardless of whether they were a benevolent or a demon king.
Stopping the Engine Nomu to wait for his pursuers, Kurogiri released the Invisible Nomu and used telepathy to guide it to an interception spot. As he was besieged by Kunai and Shuriken from three different directions, he used his Whirlwind Quirk to deflect the projectiles and saw three people drop down in front of him.
The ninjas in front of Kurogiri had headbands with a symbol for wavy grass, indicating that they belonged to a smaller ninja village. Kurogiri order his invisible Nomu, that he dropped earlier, to flank the ninja and grab two. Two of the ninjas suddenly found themselves lifted into the air, restrained by something they couldn't see.
While the last ninja was distracted, Kurogiri rushed towards them on the Engine Nomu and used his Black Whip Quirk to restrain them. The Invisible Nomu strangled the two restrained ninjas in its Dupli-arms until they passed out.
Kurogiri ordered the Invisible Nomu to bring the unconscious ninjas to him and then drained them of their chakra. He noted that the ninja from the smaller village were weaker than Konoha ninjas, but the chakra was still enough. This only made him more excited about his plan to conquer the village.
Kurogiri focused on the captive, planning to interrogate the ninja to obtain directions to their village. He dragged the ninja over to himself to place his hands on the ninja's head while looking into their eyes with his menacing red eyes.
Kurogiri slowly started draining the ninja's chakra with All for One and warned them to answer his questions honestly if they wanted to live. The terrified ninja quickly agreed to cooperate but tried to lie about the location of their village. Kurogiri, using his Polygraph Quirk, knew the ninja was lying, so he hardened his finger and stabbed the ninja in the eye.
Kurogiri said, "I told you not to lie to me. Do you not want to live? Now I'll ask again where your village is" in a menacing and disappointed voice. The ninja, horrified by the creature's sharp teeth and chakra threads, quickly revealed the directions to the village.
Kurogiri, satisfied with the directions, questioned the ninja about the village's security and their detection methods for intruders. The ninja revealed that they had a way to detect intruders through physical patrol but didn't have anyone capable of seeing or sensing chakra besides a woman in the hospital with a healing bite.
Kurogiri was interested in the woman and made plans to visit her. He was also excited by the fact that there wasn't anyone capable of seeing chakra and only the woman could sense it from a distance. However from what he gathered she is so busy with healing all day so she shouldn't be able to focus on him. After collecting the information, Kurogiri drained the chakra from the ninja and killed them for lying earlier.
Kurogiri noticed that when the ninja talked about the woman in the hospital, they didn't seem to value her as a person. He decided to offer her a chance to join him rather than having just Nomus around him all the time. Kurogiri planned to take over this village and make it his base for future expansion.
He burned the bodies to make it harder to identify him, hopped onto the Engine Nomu, and grabbed the invisible Nomu with his Black Whip. They began speeding towards the Hidden Grass Village, which he planned to rename after taking it over.
While travelling, Kurogiri focused on the chakra he obtained from the three earlier ninja. He had enough to create a medium-level quirk or three low-level quirks. He didn't hesitate to make an Invisibility Quirk, which he gave to the Engine Nomu. With both his Nomus invisible, taking over the village should be even easier, especially since he also has Permeation and Black Quirks.
Kurogiri encountered more ninja from the Hidden Grass Village along the way, but with the two invisible Nomus, taking them down was easy, and he collected more chakra from the defeated enemies. Gathering enough chakra to make another medium level quirk but waiting until later to make it.
Unbeknownst to Kurogiri, the higher ups of the Hidden Grass Village were already having a meeting while waiting for the team near the border to return with more information about the creature in the bounty. Since there was no Kage in the village, the meeting hosted the strongest and oldest ninja in the village. They sent out more ninja to see what happened when the team did not return when predicted.
However, the ninja they sent out were already killed by the creature they were meeting about. Realizing something was wrong, one of the village's few Jonin decided to check after the meeting. Kurogiri had already reached the outskirts of the village and dropped the invisible Nomu. He hopped off the Engine Nomu and left them behind. With the sun about to rise, Kurogiri used his Black Quirk to enter the shadow and head towards the village unnoticed.
Kurogiri observed from the shadows that this village lacked a wall and seemed to be much smaller than Konoha. He remembered the information he had gathered and headed towards the central building where the high-level ninjas were said to be housed.
As Kurogiri was getting closer to the building using his search quirk, he could sense that the ninjas inside were starting to leave. He found himself a shadow to hide nearby and watched as all the high-level ninjas left.
He decided to follow one, heading out of the village at a quick pace. This presented a perfect opportunity for Kurogiri to keep track of the ninja and order the Engine and Invisible Nomu to intercept them from the village.
With the plan in place, Kurogiri used his black quirk to travel through the shadows towards the fleeing ninja. While in the shadows, he decided to use his medium-level quirk confession to extract information from the ninja.
However, after creating the quirk, Kurogiri felt a sharp pain in his body and emerged from the shadow out of the village, shaking in pain. Kurogiri realized that his body, while stronger than All For One's, was not yet developed enough to handle so many quirks.
Despite this realization, he focused through the pain and absorbed the leftover chakra from the previous two quirk creations into his body. This caused his body to develop further, making him stronger and reducing the pain. He decided to interrogate the ninja before using all his chakra on his body.
Using his search quirk once again, Kurogiri found the ninja had been stopped by his Nomu. With a renewed vigor and a brush with death, Kurogiri made his way towards the captured ninja.
Once he was done with this ninja, the hidden grass village would be replaced with his village. The Ninja World was on the verge of a seismic shift, as a village was about to vanish and be replaced by a new one, which was sure to stun the world.
