One advantage that Hikaru had over almost anyone was his reflexes, ever since he transmigrated he has had better reactions than just about anyone he had fought. So when he felt slight tremors from the ground he jumped back almost instinctively.
2 hands appeared from the ground where he had been standing and after just a moment not giving Hikaru any time to capture this weakness the hands dipped back into the ground and Koji slowly phased out.
Koji looked at Hikaru in silence, he had dropped his fighting stance so Hikaru also turned his Sharingan off.
'Good he's still alert,' Koji noticed and then turned to the rest of the genins he had, all in all, he would have probably the easiest time teaching this bunch.
'Even the civilian brat seems quite sharp'
"Alright, here's your evaluations of Day 1, Inuzuka you need physical conditioning, and a lot of it. For a clan that entirely uses physical attacks as their attack method, you are sorely lacking compared to your peers. Hatake, I can see the saber on your back but your body does not have enough speed to take advantage of your saber's short reach. You need to be faster or switch to a longer sword if you don't want to focus on speed."
Koji started berating everybody one by one, just physical conditioning was enough for him to disqualify most of the members of the group as anything other than a body count in the footnotes of the next war.
"I will be honest, I never intended to tell you anything but then again most of you are part of a clan so you might know what the hurry is all about. Leaving Minato with a slight gap in his knowledge...a war is coming, and although many people just think it would be a small war with the Land of Sky, I don't think so..." Koji spoke gaining the attention of even the irritable Inuzuka.
"There are too many shinobi that retire every year because of the lack of missions, years of peace after the shinobi world war had allowed each of the 5 major shinobi villages to gather a lot of troops. Just Konoha has over 1000 Jonins, if you count both active and inactive shinobi. That means almost every shinobi village should have similar strength and when a conflict breaks out everyone would fight for the drying up missions."
"I don't want you to be a footnote in the upcoming war, so I'll train you to fight on a battlefield, the rest is up to you. Understood..." Koji asked.
He didn't get any shouts of yes, nor was he expecting some, the firm nods meant his message had gone across.
"Good, now every day we will start with physical conditioning. Everyone drop down and give me 250 Pushups..." Koji spoke and the training began, Hikaru went along with everything although it basically didn't make a dent in his physical stats.
He had been itching to start training with weights because without them only his endurance stat was being trained as he couldn't exert pressure on his body without heavy weights.
'The whole training session gave me +0.01 in STR...' Hikaru sighed, he reminisced about the days when just one pushup would have done the job.
...
"Now that everyone is taking a break, let's start testing out your elemental affinities. How many of you know your elemental affinities," Koji asked, only Hikaru and Hatake raised their hands, they were the only clans that used ninjutsu as a form of attack and even Hatake clan users mainly relied on Kenjutsu.
"Okay, here take these and channel a tiny bit of chakra through the paper." Koji pulled out 6 strips of chakra paper and passed them to each of the genins.
"Remember, everyone's chakra is different, so everyone has a different affinity for each of the primary elements." He pointed at Hikaru's chakra paper that burnt up instantly and turned to ash.
"Hikaru's chakra is naturally more inclined to Fire nature..." Koji explained, and then he began pointing out the reactions of the rest of them, "...so is Noboru, both Hiashi and Tetsuo are Earth natured, Kame is water natured and Minato is wind, huh that's quite rare." Koji looked at Minato for a second and then started explaining the correlation between the different nature chakras.
Hikaru knew all of this so he just muddled along with the explanations, Koji looked up at the sun and then spoke, "It is around 10 AM right now, all of you have access to the genin library now so I want you to read through all the offensive jutsus and go find a C-Rank that fits your style." Koji gave all of them a task but stopped Hikaru, "Hikaru wait a bit."
He got a side glance from his team members but after a moment all of them rushed away. Koji looked at his students running away and thought, 'I need to teach them the Body Flicker Jutsu, this is kind of embarrassing.'
"Yes, Sensei?" Hikaru spoke/asked with a raised eyebrow.
Koji looked at the little monster in front of him, he knew the Uchiha clan were known for their geniuses but Hikaru seemed too good for his age.
'At this rate, he would be stronger than me before the war even begins.' Koji sighed he was envious of Hikaru's talent for a bit before he recovered from his self-loathing.
"How much effort did it take you during the physical condition earlier today," Koji asked.
"Not much," Hikaru answered honestly, except for the Mangekyo he had no reason to hide anything else, Konoha wasn't against the Uchiha clan right now, or at least they weren't openly against it. Danzo wouldn't directly dare to kidnap him, and even if something happened he had his Mangekyo powers to escape.
"It's because you have already squeezed your body's potential for now and your body needs time to grow up, you won't get any faster anytime soon nor will your strength directly increase. So I want you to do minimal physical conditioning every week to maintain your status and instead use your extra time to focus on another shinobi art." Koji explained his reasoning.
'Maybe I should focus more on sealing, although it is getting extremely hard to gain EXP and I have to grind a little too much...' Hikaru thought.
