The tip of her nose was filled with the smell of disinfectant. When she opened her eyes, Wendy found herself lying on the bed, surrounded by white walls.
Then she turned her head to look at Louis Wellington, who was looking at her with concern. "You're awake. Are you feeling better?"
She struggled to sit up. Louis put a pillow behind her to make Wendy feel better.
"What's wrong with me?"
"You have a fever." Louis poured her a glass of water and handed it to her. "You have been very nervous since the accident, so after solving the problem, you fainted as soon as you relaxed."
No wonder her hand was so hot when he touched her in the parking lot. Louis was only surprised that Wendy could hold on for so long.
She looked up at the clock on the wall. It was already ten o'clock!
Wendy Cassia wanted to pull out the needle but was stopped by the man. "What are you doing?"
"It's so late. I have to go back. The kids must be anxious." She said and was about to get out of bed.
