Tristan tried to ignore the way her breath tickled his face.
"I heard you were assigned to my care. You seem to be doing well, considering what you had to deal with."
"Yeah, I guess," Tristan replied.
Erika let out a small laugh. "Oh, come on. Don't play dumb. I saw how you reacted when you found out I was your guide. That's not the reaction of someone who is happy to have me as their mentor."
"No kidding. It's just that—"
"Don't worry," she cut in, cutting him off. "That's not important right now. What is important is that I finally get to meet the student I've been hearing so much about. Privately."
Tristan's eyes trailed to her cleavage again.
'A fair view from here, I guess.'
"I'm sure you'll understand if I say that I'd rather keep things professional from here on out."
"Of course you would," Tristan said sarcastically.
