11. Necessary Evil

Elliot was tasked by his wolf gang leader to investigate the death of a recent rival gang member. They got the news that a member of the bear gang got beaten and the blame was on a wolf member. Upon investigation, Elliot didn't find any fellow members having gotten in conflict with anyone from the bear gang.

Feeling a false accusation against them, Elliot decided to patrol in search of a clue.

In a silent dark alley, Elliot was walking when he suddenly heard the sounds of a fight going on in the neighboring street.

Rushing in the direction of the noise, he saw two gang members from the Bear on the floor and a hooded boy was facing them.

Without hesitation, he activated his ability and launched an attack to pierce the boy's heart. To his surprise, the boy's reflexes were fast and he moved his upper body sideways. This caused a cut on his arms while missing his vitals.

With the slight discomfort on his arms and the number of system messages, Abraham undoubtedly knew a person had just attacked him.

"Who are you? Why are you attacking the Bear gang and framing us" Elliot asked a series of questions without any pause.

The invisible attack felt similar to what Elliot had just launched but for this one, Elliot didn't have any time to react and he felt something on his right fall to the ground.

It took a few seconds for Elliot's brain to register what he was seeing. Half his right arm from his elbow was missing.

Elliot vocalized his pain through a sharp cry. Being a level 3, it was the first time he felt his life in danger. Applying pressure to his injury using his other hand, he focused all his attention on the little monster in from of him. In his mind, a child could not be soo strong.

This time Abraham used his blood swipe as his next attack. He didn't wait to see if he hit the target and dashed toward the wolf gang member.

Elliot this time saw a different attack, it was red in color. Anticipating it, Elliot jumped to the side. He was successful but when he looked at the boy's position, he wasn't there.

Abraham used the advantage of the darkness and came where Elliot landed. With less than a metre separating them, he threw a powerful punch infused with Qi toward Elliot's chest.

In such little time, Elliot could only pull his hand to his chest and took the punch with full power. *Crack*. All the bones inside Elliot's hand scattered but he could not care for it as another attack came.

Without giving his opponent any rest, Abraham hit the middle age man repeatedly. Finally, he heard the system.

Inspecting his surroundings and making such no one else was around, Abraham let out a sigh. It was an intense few minutes and anything could have happened differently.

Now he had to decide what to do with the three unconscious gang members. Abraham processed his thoughts quickly and came to a conclusion. He went to one of the Bear members.

He positioned the man's neck and Abraham opened his mouth wide. His teeth started to transform and he could feel them grow.

His teeth quickly sunk into the man's skin and at the same time, a gush of blood entered Abraham's mouth.

The Blood bank was a kind of storage to store blood and it wasn't necessary to consume for it to fill the bank. Abraham could just put his hand on the blood or blood container and with a thought of the skill, it would fill his blood bank.

Although Abraham had used a test tube and cork to store the blood, it still wouldn't delay the process of it being spoilt for long. At most Abraham would be able to keep the blood fresh for 8 hours.

On the other hand, the blood bank could keep the blood fresh for an extremely long period of time.

Abraham wasn't done with the first gang member as now he put his hand on the man's heart. He then activated sinister energy.

Qi drain.

It forcefully absorbs the Qi of another living being and added it to one own body. In doing so, the life energy of the person being absorbed would diminish until no more energy was left in his body.

Abraham felt a small Qi energy leaving the gang member and entering his body. A system message immediately popped up as soon as Abraham stopped receiving any more Qi.

Abraham turned to the next Bear gang member and this time, he took his knife to make the blood flow. He then placed his hand on the pool of blood and activated his Blood bank skill.

Elliot wasn't fully unconscious and he knew the boy was coming to end his life. At that time his only wish was to be reunited with his dead sister in the afterlife. He was born when the war started and both his parent perished during a dalki attack. Later when he and his sister were left with nothing, they moved to the lesser district. Not a month went by, and his sister died due to hunger. To survive, he had to join a gang and perform their evil doing.
