Making way to the factory

Time passed quickly enough, and at some point, Rube got a call that informed him that Mark's truck was ready to go. So they moved towards where the car was, which wasn't that far from where Mark first met Rube, but it was behind a small storehouse, so he couldn't see it completely.

The truck was identical to the others that Rube had pointed to some moments ago, which wasn't strange, as it wasn't unusual for a company to stick on a model.

Mark nodded as he opened the door to the driver's seat. Rube gave him the truck's keys on their way toward it, so he was ready to go. He was curious about what he was delivering, as they did not mention this in the paper with his assignment.

Mark took out his phone and went on its contact list, which surprisingly had two numbers. The second one he recognized to be Lylah's number, which he was sure he hadn't put there. As for the first one, it didn't seem familiar to him.

That was the first <Truck Upgrade> Mark had bought, and he found the difference in the notification interesting. But in the end made sense to be different, as he and Truck-kun weren't the same being; they were just connected through a contract, apparently.

As for what he bought was quite simple as it was more like an ability than a physical one. It allowed Truck-kun to take control of vehicles by moving part of his consciousness at them. Buying it didn't unlock any new knowledge for Mark, as he wasn't the one who earned it.

They continued their way, especially after leaving Vever Town, as they expected their followers to make a move soon. But to the surprise of both of them, it seemed like they weren't followed anymore after they left the town.

The difference between the two was quite simple, as the one he would use was just a typical tunnel, meaning just a hole through a mountain, etc. But the ones that needed the special license were far from something simple. Instead, they were using a technology that was on the public like that for only a couple of years—- teleportation stations.

Once you reached those places, you had to leave your vehicle, though, as they still hadn't succeeded in teleporting organic beings without messing with their bodies. That was why they were used only for deliveries, and there had to be another driver waiting on the other side to take care of the rest of the drive.

Mark didn't have to worry about finding a person to help him in these cases, as it was taken care of by the same company that gave the licenses to use them. But, of course, that family who owed that company was the same one that was the reason for the existence of these stations, to begin with—- the Ranac family.

Mark wasn't sure about it, but from what he had heard from reading different articles, his younger brother was behind the breakthrough of that technological feat. He had heard about his family working on teleportation technology even when he was part of them, but it seemed like they had made little progress until just a couple of years ago. But at that point, he wasn't part of the family to know its details.

The ride continued with no troubles, and Mark could see his destination after close to ten hours of driving. He used a different route this time, since last time he didn't start from Vever Town, so he didn't pass from where the accident happened last time.

He usually would have taken a break some hours ago, but since he didn't feel hungry or tired, he continued. He had lost some SP, mainly because he was using his <Appraisal> on different things he encountered, which leveled up the Skill by one, reaching level 27.

He also tried to work on his <Minor Energy Manipulation> by borrowing just a bit of energy for the truck's battery and kept changing its shape. He tried not to go for simple geometrical shapes, like spheres and cubes, but not as complex as the truck shape. In the end, the Skill leveled up twice, reaching level 26, and he could use it without needing to close his eyes.

He couldn't level up his <Martial Art>, unfortunately, as it still took too much focus from him to do while driving.

As for the level <Vehicle Possessor>, it had increased much more than what Mark had expected. It was already at level 75, which, according to Truck-kun, was the level that a D-Rank Skill and Upgrade entered their <Master State>.

The control of Truck-kun over the truck had changed completely, at the rate of being able to drive it by himself with no help from Mark. Still, Mark continued doing some driving, as he didn't want just to stay there, Doing nothing. But it helped him focus on developing his Skills as he could split his focus without too much worry.

As for Truck-kun's fast way of earning levels of his Upgrade, it wasn't that unexpected. After all, Truck-kun had all those abilities before but had lost access to them from what he had told Mark. So developing them to reach their full power was much easier for him than in Mark's case.
