Harvest and Purchases

Alex rested inside the cave for nearly an hour before he regained the capacity to do anything.

Handling mana fatigue was not an easy thing, even when Alex depleted nearly 90% of his mana. He may be accustomed to the pain, but even thinking or moving a finger became painful in this state.

He was not in any immediate danger now, nor was he a masochist, so he just rested without doing anything by the side before the side effects started to lessen more considerably.

'Firstly, let's improve my mana regeneration and magic power, then I will check out these corpses.'

Alex now had a whopping 63 shop points. He may certainly not buy a new magic affinity with it, but now without debating, he could purchase the other two options.

After opening the buying section in the system shop, he went over to the magic section.

He was planning on buying certain skills later when he sold the soon-to-be-harvested monster cores.

The notification this time only stated that his magic power increased significantly, with no indication of how much it did. Alex also felt no changes in himself, unlike when his mana reserves increased.

'I guess I'll find out when I test it out later, or I will just ask Aurora more about this.'

"This much?!" Now was the time for Alex to be shocked again as his mana regeneration speed basically skyrocketed.

For context, the last time Alex checked, it took an hour and a quarter for 100 MP to regenerate. It was nearly 10 days before.

That was when he was actively absorbing mana from the surroundings into his mana core in a mana-rich environment.

"Hehe, with this, under an hour, I will be completely full. The system is really amazing." Alex was still downplaying the power and usefulness of the system.

With the boost in mana regeneration, he felt more confident in his ability to cast spells more frequently and endure longer battles.

While he waited for his mana reserves to completely fill, he decided to start scavenging the dead corpses of monsters.

"These Dimwingeds are all burnt and charred; they are of no value now, it seems."

Out of 17 monsters which he simultaneously burned and electrocuted, 9 of them were the Dimwingeds.

Their shiny lustrous wings were completely ruined; other than the monster cores, they were of no monetary value.

As for the Green Vipers, it seemed that their poison sack was still intact and sellable.

After harvesting the burnt Dimwinged's cores and storing the Green Viper's corpses, he inspected the first lot which he froze when he first entered the cave.

The first batch of the Dimwingeds he froze were in salvageable condition. He could sell their wings. And there was one more thing.

"Ahh, so it did kill one of these."

Alex's earlier strategy of crushing the Green Viper's from the frozen block of Dimwingeds seemed to have killed one of them.

Alex didn't dissect these batches of monsters for their cores. He planned on directly selling them to the guild.

After harvesting the nine ruined Dimwingeds and the Green Viper in the worst condition, Alex sold 10 of their monster cores to the system.

He had already decided on one of the skills; for the other two, he would just buy whichever seemed useful at the moment.

His first choice was obvious: Beginner Combat Expert. The Beginner Weapon Expert was a similar type of skill, and Alex found it really useful and effective. It was a must-buy for him.

The next two he decided on were Focus and Minor Poison Resistance skills.

Focus seemed to be a really useful skill to him after reading the description. He was not sure where he would use it, but why not?

Minor Poison Resistance skill was a self-explanatory one, as its name suggested. There were not just poisonous monsters like the Green Vipers, but also some very poisonous plants present.

He also wanted to acquire the Minor Magic Resistance skill but didn't find any reason to currently buy it.

He was short on shop coins and was lazy to dissect the monster cores and sell them for it. He kept it on his list for future purchase.

As for Cook and Meditate skills, he found them useless and decided not to splurge shop coins on them.
