BLÃZE

~~~~~Six Months Later~~~~~
Six months after mom's death, I had to get back to school. It had to be six months later because of what happened back in Star City. Dad was wanted for a crime he didn't commit. Actually, he did do it. He killed one of Philip's men while trying to save me.
That was the reason why I forgave him.
Though I did not forget.
Within those six months, dad got a new job. He started working as a bartender. That was the only job he could find in the city but that didn't stop him from searching for jobs online that were related to his profession. As for me, I worked 8hrs shifts in a mini groceries shop, attending to customers. I became familiar with quite a few people, especially the old ones.
So exactly six months, dad and I saved enough cash to enrol me at Carlsville academy. I had to work on a different shift, 8hrs to 4hrs after school, because I had a dream which was to be a neurologist. Yeah, dad was not happy about it. He wanted me to be a scientist just like him but who cares.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In early October, I resumed Carsville academy. Dad saw a job vacancy online, a job that went with his line. So he decided to drop me off on his way to the interview. Since it was my first day at school, I didn't want to be late. 7:30 we took to the road. it was a silent drive between the both of us. I could see him from the side of my mirror, his worried face. He stared repeatedly at me with a frown expecting me to at least give in a smile on my first day of school. Then he decided to strike up a conversation with me

"Hey Blazee! You feel the Carsville sun and its fresh air on your skin" Glancing at the road, he said with a grin, expecting a smile but I gave non.

"I know where you're going dad so stop whining. It won't work" I replied without looking at him.

Seeing I won't budge in a smile, he sighed and then spoke softly "Look Blaze, I know back in California, things didn't work out well even after your mom's death. But remember I promised you, that I'll be there for you so see what's about to happen as a new beginning. You'll make new friends, finish school and we'll be around people who don't hate us"

*Like seriously in the space of six months, a lot of things changed about dad. His attitude, ability to calm down, he even learnt how to watch a movie... Dad was "too busy" he never had time to seat for a family dinner talkless of a movie night*

"Hate us?" I turned to stare at him with my brows raised "Why do they hate us? Oh because you built what nobody has ever built and the only thing they think of doing is to kill mom" I burst out with anger. I was already getting pissed at the fact that he promised to be there for me. He wasn't there when Mom was alive but now he wants to?

Dad ransacked his brain for what to say but he couldn't. I could see the relief on his face just as we got to the entrance of the school. He slowly halted and fixed the gear to neutral.

"Here's your stop"

Swiftly I got down from the car and without saying goodbye, I was about to walk when he called. I was like what does he want again? Had no choice but to turn and head back to the car. I lowered my head and stared at his face with a blank expression.

"I'll see you back at home after my Interview with the Colbat industry. Remember! this is a fresh start. try to give this city a chance" He said with a smile on his face while I nodded weakly.

"anything else?" I waited a sec before taking a step away from the door. He positioned the gear to drive and zoom he went, creating some particles of dust in the air.

Nodding as he departed, I turned and stared at the huge building right in front of me. There were many kids of different size, height and look arriving or either walking into the school.

I got to know it was a new term, telling from their actions. There were lots of yelling, hugging and giggling made by the girls. The giggles were enough to blast six speakers at the same time. The boys mainly gave fist bumps and shoulder hugging to one another.

There was this guy who drove into the school's parking lot with the sounds of music blaring out of his car. As soon as he halted, he came out slowly like a celebrity. Many of the girls who stood some meters away ran towards him. There were many clicks and captures. I tried to take a glimpse of him as he was bombarded with girls. Since I was nearly up to 6ft, all I did was stand on my toe and I saw his face. he was not that bad for a guy. He was the perfect dream of every girl. His blonde perfectly styled hair, I couldn't see his eyes since he wasn't that close to me, but his height seem to be 6ft 2 inches tall...

I got to know his name as one of his dudes hailed him "Hey Jackson"

"Gibby the man" Jackson gave a hug.

Gibby looks a bit fat but not the same height as Jackson. scanning him, I guess we kind of have the same height. I learnt he was the principal's second child. But who was the first kid? I don't wanna know.

Together with the girls, they walked towards the school but took a different route into the building, probably the gym.

I inhaled before heading towards the main entrance that led to the hallway. Yeah, many of the students were gazing at me. Even though they spoke among themselves, I could hear them faintly.

"who's that kid?" a girl asked her friend

"I don't know but I think he's cute" she replied.

"Do you think he's a friend of Jackson?" a townie asked his friend who was staring at me with lust in his eyes. I could tell he is gay, with the way he winked at me, licking his lips in a perverted manner. "I don't care but he looks perfect"

You could say I look pretty handsome for the ladies, and beautiful for the guys. Within those six months, I changed my looks. I mean I possess everything a girl would want. Though I was not manly I still got the crushing guy's look. My deep oceanic blue eyes, full plump "male" pink lips, well-trimmed eyebrows, round face, not too pointy nose and curly not too long hair were enough to get all the ladies in the school to fall for me.

Six months ago, I was not like this, except for the oceanic blue eyes, round face and pointy nose. I guess in the space of six months, I had levelled up.

With a bag on my left shoulder, I walked past the hall, staring for a door which had the principal sign on it. Sighting it from afar, I sighed as a sign of relief and then walked very fast towards the door. Getting in front, I placed a double knock and instantly heard a voice

"come in"

Turning the handle, I opened the door to meet a not-too-old man seating at the end of the room. He somewhat looked In his 50, judging from the grey hair which grew on his toupee. Nearly sighting the toupee which covered his bald hair, I almost snorted into laughter. I did though but quickly hid it as he raised his head and stared at me amidst his glasses.

"Goo... good morning sir" I stammered staring at his face.

"any problem kid?" His voice enough could give a heart attack. With his fingers on his laptop which was in front of him, and his lips tightened together, he waited patiently for me to reply him.

"um my name Is Blaze, Blaze hunter and I'm a new student"

He stared at me for like five seconds before lowering his head back to his laptop. I was like did I say or do anything wrong? Still in thought, I heard a deep voice

"Blaze Hunter I presume, have your seat" He said stretching his hands at the seat in front of him. Quickly I drew out the chair which made a big fat noise. I sat and dropped my bag on the bare ground.

"So I'll make this quick" He said after clearing his throat. Principal Bradford (as he was called) removed his spectacles and placed them on the desk. He rested his back and interlocked his fingers, staring into my face.

"Welcome to Carlsville academy, a place of learning and non-shenanigans. Or are you gonna give us some troubles?" he asked with his brows furrowed and I replied instantly "not at all sir"

"good" he nodded with a faint smile.

"do you have your schedule?"

"uh yeah it's right in my backpack" I turned to my bag which was on the ground and started searching for a white A4 paper. Still searching, I heard a knock and instantly it was opened.

"Ah! Alex, you're right just in time" Principal Bradford said with a grin. I tilted my head a bit and I saw Alex. He looked okay, mostly for his dark complexion. He had full hair which was well shaved down to his beard, just like a teddy.

"Yo principal, what's popping"

I was like what?

Did I hear that right?

Maybe I misheard him, I said to myself

"I need your help" Principal Bradford said now with his spectacles on...

"uh" he purred grinning his teeth together "Helps cost a lot of bucks, you know that" he said before sitting beside me.

"Tell me about it" and they burst into laughter.

I was lost.

Why are they laughing, what's funny about what he said, I asked myself repeatedly.

Then my subconsciousness voiced out "welcome to Carlsville academy, a school of madness"

"Ok really Principal B, what's up?"

Okay, I just learnt something.

Closing his laptop, Bradford replied "I just wanted you to show this new kid around and from his schedule, I guess you guys are in the same class"

"Really?" without a courtesy, he grabbed the schedule off my hand and stared into it.

"yo pal, principal's right. we got the same schedule. Mehn we gonna be best pal"

Crossing his hands on my shoulder he said smiling at me but I was still lost. I had no choice but to smile back at him.

We got out and he started listing the school's rules and regulations, he showed me my locker, class and the boy's bathroom.... Very important.

Moving along, I fully understood who he was. Alex is a funny and simple guy. He's very social and open to people. His sense of humour was what made me like him. Though his jokes were not funny, the stories he told me were unbelievable and quite hilarious.

At a point, I smiled and said to myself "Welcome to Carlsville academy"
