Cameron sets the girl, Terra, in the back seat of the SUV his partner drove. He takes a moment to look her over. She isn't actively bleeding anymore, which is good, though she's still soaked in blood. As sweet as it smelled, Lawrence was going to kill him for staining the seats.
This girl actually would have looked pretty if she weren't so banged up. Her short, dark hair was a bit of a mess, but what do you expect, having been hit by a car. She had pale, smooth skin, and as his eyes drew downward, he noticed she was a bit heavier in the chest and hips. Most modern men preferred small and skinny, but Cameron was from a time when thicker women were revered. To him, she was stunning.
He took a deep breath and cleared his mind. Shutting the car door, he turned and waved at Terra's mother. Mrs. Star was nice enough. He had given her his card in case she wanted to check in on her daughter. He secretly hoped only the mother would reach out. The girls father was definitely a nasty piece of work.
Cameron walked around the SUV and slid in the passenger seat. He looked at his partner, Lawrence, who was sitting behind the wheel with a scowl on his face. "Thank you for doing this, buddy." He said.
"You owe me for detailing the car." Lawrence grumbled.
"Always a ray of sunshine, aren't you?" Cameron chuckled. "Anyway, I'll take care of cleaning the car. Can you take us to my place? I need to get this girl cleaned up and blooded before too long passes."
"Are you sure you can handle this on your own?"
"What do you mean" Cameron asks. "I've taken care of fledglings before. This is a cakewalk."
"Yeah, but those fledglings were already blooded and turned! This one was just abandoned right at the beginning! This could get dangerous for both of you if you're not careful. Plus you could end up stuck with her forever."
"You worry too much, my friend. It'll be fine. I'll just call the bosses tomorrow and let them know what's up. I'll be out of work for a while, but after she can handle herself, I'll be back. No need to freak out."
Lawrence grumbled under his breath, but let the topic drop. No good can come from trying to argue. Once Cameron has made up his mind about something, its over.
After driving for a while, they stop in front of a house deeper out in the suburbs, away from most of the city. "Here" Lawrence says. " Now get the bleeding girl and get out of my car."
" Technically, she's not bleeding anymore." Cameron says with a grin on his face. He walked to the trunk and grabbed her bag, then set it on the porch and opened the front door. Going back to the SUV, he gently picked up the sleeping girl. At least, he hoped she was sleeping. But he felt a pulse, so his worries were put to ease.
With one last look at his long-time partner and friend, he walked inside and began the start of a very long night.
Some time later, he had Terra cleaned up and redresses in a nightgown her mother had packed. While he had seen everything while cleaning the blood off of her, he had to admit, the nightgown accentuated the best parts of her. Just what had that woman been thinking when she packed it?
Oh well, nothing to be done about it, he thought. As long as he kept his hands to himself unless necessary, and his mind out of the gutter, all would be well. The last thing he needed was to be accused of taking advantage of an unconscious girl. He wasn't that kind of man, and never intended on being. That being said though, there were no rules about admiring a nice figure.
With a sigh, he covered the girl up, having laid her on the bed in one of his guest rooms. Then he opened her mouth slightly, cut a small slit into his own wrist, and dribbled the blood into her mouth. He hoped this worked.
